Why did the world reject the Messiah when He Did come?

How is it possible to reject something you've never heard of?

Hi Vinayaka.

How are you doing? We’ve just had a long freezing winter here but it’s Spring now and so I’m looking forward to the warmer weather. I went to the doctor to get prescriptions filled and ended up catching the flu from someone there.

My understanding is that irreligion is on the rise and many people just aren’t so interested anymore in spiritual things that much. Hope you are keeping well.

Hospitals and clinics are places to get sick.

We're coming into autumn. Still a few nice days left though. There is a mini desert with sand dunes in the middle of the Canadian prairies, and we're going to drive out there later this week.

Personally, I see behaviour as more important than belief, so it doesn't bother me at all that irreligion is on the rise. Wholly depends on the person and the faith, but in many cases, it's an improvement to escape some medieval dogma. All the ex-_____ s I've read about (their personal testimonies) seem to feel liberated, although there is often a temporary rebellion period. Escaping a religion that preaches and practices hatred is 'seeing the light'.

It’s the behaviour that distinguishes people most not what they say.

Bahaullah did not claim to be the Messiah of Jews, in his core book Kitab-i-Iqan.

Regards

Baha'u'llah has many writings, this is a quote from that link which is Baha'u'llah's proclamation to the rulers of the world and all peoples:

Pope Pius IX

"Pope! Rend the veils asunder. He Who is the Lord of Lords is come overshadowed with clouds, and the decree hath been fulfilled by God, the Almighty, the Unrestrained...."

This was the opening to the Queen of England;

Queen Victoria

"O Queen in London! Incline thine ear unto the voice of thy Lord, the Lord of all mankind, calling from the Divine Lote-Tree: Verily, no God is there but Me, the Almighty, the All-Wise! Cast away all that is on earth, and attire the head of thy kingdom with the crown of the remembrance of thy Lord, the All-Glorious. He, in truth, hath come unto the world in His most great glory, and all that hath been mentioned in the Gospel hath been fulfilled...."

You should read all those letters @paarsurrey

Did they not recognize Him as earlier prophesied in the Old and the New Testament an in all past scriptures?

Baha'is see that it has happened, but not as people have expected.

Maybe that humanity as a whole will now finally understand as to how a Messenger of God, is always rejected?

This is a rewording of another thread in this topic.

The vision for this thread embraces a wider audience, all of Humanity. We also have the Dates of AD1844 and AH1260 as a starting point.

Ever stop to consider that humans are fallible and not good at recognizing truth? How the heck do you expect a finite, fallible creature to be able to recognize some great spiritual or religious truth when we're so prone to deception and error?

Sometimes speaking is a behaviour though. Hurling insults at religions other than your own is a behaviour.

Yes very true. Ahimsa in both word and deed. I wonder if there is any person alive today who has not wounded someone at one time or another with his/her words. The thing is to learn from our mistakes and try to avoid repeating them.

Hard when it comes from the top, the governing body of the organisation you belong to. Your choice is to disobey that and be nice, or follow the directions and go against your own conscience that is yelling at you that you can do better. Some choice!

I see that most people see that Scripture is clear, to their own way of understanding. I see that is why when G_d sends His Messengers and that is why they are rejected, we are to proud to let go of our perceived knowledge.

They show us what the Word means, but we have made up our own mind and neglect our part of G_d's covenant and we persecute those sent from G_d to guide us unto all truth.

I see history has proved we have repeated this mistake.

Regards Tony
No. It isn’t a question of misunderstanding. The language is clear. The arrival of the moshiach and the end time events are contemporaneous.

I see that the ability is within us all.

Agreed and I see that they did happen as foretold. Others may choose to how they see it happening.
