Why didn't the Obama administration veto the recent UN resolution on Israel

That might well change under Putin's boy.
See, I give props to Trump when they're due.

Honestly, I would be in support of weening them off our buck. It could free up a lot of funds to focus on a few other things.

Oh yeah!
I totally would as well. And the USA government willingness to back up Israel in the UN makes me crazy.
Maybe if the USA were more reasonable then the rest of the world would be also. I do think Israel is treated horribly unfairly by the UN.

Israel has taken part in their fair share of war crimes. Granting them some accountability would be a fresh of breath air in regards to international affairs.

About time they knocked those settlements down. Go New Zealand, Malaysia, Venezuela and Senegal show you cannot be corruptly bought, don't get me wrong I like most Israelis they are a kickass democracy in a ocean of despots, although I draw the line at the "Jewish Taliban", those war mongering traditional RELIGIOUS hasidic nutters that start most of the trouble, wont even join the army and fight in the mess they create. I think these settlements are above arrogance, they have to be stopped. They are a festering sore in middle east politics and root of justification for islamic attacks in and against my country which I do not appreciate.
Cheers from OZ

The Obama administration pledged 38 billion dollars in military aid over the next ten years to Israel signed just a few short months ago, if 3.8 billion dollars a year is abandoning them then I would like to be abandoned as well.

A resolution that includes this like saying Jews living in the Jewish quarter are there illegally ?????
A truly strange move right before Hanakah.
The settlements are not in the "Jewish quarter".

Frankly, I think Netanyahu brought this on himself, so this may well be a pay-back. He campaigned here in the States when asked by Boehner to come a couple of years ago, thus breaking long-standing American protocol, and then he went and publicly talked directly to Trump even while the latter is not yet president.

As a Jew who's been in Israel a couple of times, including in the West Bank, and who also has supported Israel verbally and financially, I can't blame Obama for refusing to veto the resolution, especially since it really ain't gonna do anything anyway in reality.

George H.W. Bush thought that Netanyahu was an absolute pain in the dupa, and at times refused to take any phone calls from him, according to former SoS James Baker.

I think Israel has more of a threat with the Trump presidency coming up, although I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

As Congress made clear to the world during the Iran Nuclear Deal negotiations, a Republican president can blow off any deal made by Obama if they choose to do so.
I hope that they renig on that one.
That Obama guy wasn't even born here. Who is he?

I find the correlation of irrational, SJW mentality with anti-Semitism to be both predictable and shocking. The luxurious cushion of comfort and ennui of western liberals fits well with absolutely demonizing the actions of a Jewish state, but also displays a frightening lack of knowledge and awareness of, not only current realty, but also centuries of history.

It just strikes me that over the last 5000 years, in whatever time and society, that the systematic marginalization and oppression of Jews has always been preceeded by a rationalized movement of the evilness of the Jews.

Are you saying Israel has a free hand to do anything to anyone, because they were badly treated in the past.
That is clearly nonsense. Israel like any other state is responsible for its own actions.

What part of what I said indicates that that is what I was saying? Please be specific if I said that.

looking from the outside, He has been one of your better presidents, But has been hamstrung by the travesty of your political system.

Looking from the inside, he's been one of our better presidents. The systemic resistance to acknowledging this, I can only chalk up to a statistical level of inherent racism that is very depressing. Especially, considering the fact that he's more white than most white people

It seems that you reprised their history as martyrs and victims for some purpose.?
You demonised western Liberals as being to blame in some way for calling out Israel's current actions.
Jews are no more and no less evil than any other people.
All people and states are judged on their actions.
Neither history, religion nor race is part of that equation.
In the same way a friend who steals or murders is still a criminal.

Better president to outsiders. Heck we almost had spiritual bathrooms, based on your "inner gender". Tell me the Vatican didn't dream that one up.
