It seems that you reprised their history as martyrs and victims for some purpose.?
You demonised western Liberals as being to blame in some way for calling out Israel's current actions.
Jews are no more and no less evil than any other people.
All people and states are judged on their actions.
Neither history, religion nor race is part of that equation.
In the same way a friend who steals or murders is still a criminal.
I don't think I assigned any blame. Just an observation of the parallels of others blaming Jews for their problems. I understand there is a difference between Jews and a Jewish state. I just get the sense that many people only bring this up to attempt to highlight that it's not about Jews.
Now, it is important to separate Jews from the Jewish state, but I think many westerners are unaware that they're not doing this.
But, beyond that, just having a realistic understanding and context of Israel having a siege mentality. Whatever the western societal and cultural perspective, Israel has never been out of a siege state. They're surrounded by whole populations who want to eradicate them. There's no reasonable indication that this had ever not been the case.
I think westerners, especially of the liberal persuasion, have an increasingly hard time of even comprehending, let alone acknowledging.
Any compromise or capitulation on Israel's end over the last two decades hasn't resulted in a like result. And, increasingly, with changes in western perceptions and lack of support, they, understandably, feel forced to act in their own self interest
At the end of the day, if people are going to see Israel as some kind of evil oppressor, then there's no way to change that perspective. However, they need to deal with the ever-present reality of being surrounded by masses who want them gone and have never shown any serious willingness to rationally and fairly co-exist.
It's a nice philosophical exercise for people not involved to express their moral superiority, but that isn't a relevant factor to people who have to deal with the constant reality of being surrounded by a much larger population of people who openly express their desire that you shouldn't exist.
