Why do descriptions of heaven seem highly materialistic?

Sha'irullah

رسول الآلهة
The ontological argument for the qualities of god help clarify this since God along with metaphysical concepts associated with god are not able to be grasped by the human mind. The most obvious attribute of god is that god is not able to be conceivable and if the afterlife is an expression of god then it is hopeless to conceive of it.
The only way we can help ourselves with this is to make what we think are inconceivable things and apply this to the descriptions of heaven or hell for that matter

Why do descriptions of heaven seem highly materialistic?

Perhaps because the originators of many religions realized that most people, in their present state, do not aspire to live up to such lofty ideals as complete renunciation, yet may be inspired to do so in the future, so long as there is some incentive to get them going.
