Usually, when someone publicly denounces a person or group, they're trying to convince others to commit to some sort of action. What are you trying to get others to commit to?

You seem very passionate about this, so I presume that you aren't interested in just expressing your opinion and having nothing come of it. What are you after?

Your biggest "concession" is saying "I don't think they should be beaten in the streets", when you know for a fact that it still happens today in the backwards portions of the world. You will not see Muslims drug through the gutter and stoned to death in any society where homosexuals are treated like people rather than abominations, because we apply the rule of law to everyone equally. You can't do that to them, they can't do it to you. I am sorry you are not being treated like special snowflakes.

All iam after is that homosexuals accept the reality. We follow islam and that means for religiouse and natural reasons we will never accept homosexuality in any way. To reject and condemn homosexuality is our right. Freedom of religion gives us this right. But as muslims we are religiously commanded to respect the laws of non-muslim countries.

I'm not gay. I'm pretty straight. I just get furious when people try to explain their bigotry as if doing so makes it better.

And why do you bring that up? That isn't going to happen, you might as well ask what I'd think if the sky could fall or if the earth were flat. Homosexuals have existed for as long as humanity has, and we're still here and will continue to be here. What's happening is that we're finally stopping people from keeping us in the dark ages.

Why is it crazy? Religions schism all the time over disagreements, and disagreements over sexuality and morality are no exception. So Islam is going through something that Christianity and Judaism have experienced already. So what?

You made a point about freedom of religion. Well, people are free to declare themselves gay Muslims and claim that the practice of Islam is compatible with being gay. You would be infringing on their religious rights if you were permitted to use the state to interfere with their religious practices.

Life will be difficult if one holds views about morality which don't mesh well with the larger society, the legal structure of one's country, or with changes in one's religion. A solution many believers find is to express their beliefs as politely as possible, to not punish those they see as sinners, & to peacefully coexist. I face a similar difficulty because I loathe socialism as a great evil. But I still allow socialists free speech, to marry, to reproduce, & even to become my friend. (Btw, they loathe my libertarian leanings too. But we get along.)
