Why do some Atheists say Christianity is harmful?

Look, not everyone in the church is perfect, but the message is good. And well sometimes people do bad things. But lets be honest far more evil stuff happens outside the church.

Can not take you seriously.
that you would so brush away the fact that so many priests were molesting children AND the higher ups where covering it up AND when it was finally exposed to the point it could no longer be flat out denied, they tried to blame homosexuals.

Just wow.

Wel lyou arent so squeamish about it when hollywood elites do it right? Or the children who go missing everyday. Well they dont get abused by catholics, no they get abused by rich satanist perverts. Why the selective outrage?

But cant you see that resisting an all Powerful Being is pointless?
I wouldn't go as far to say God is a being, but I have no objection to such God concepts so long as they are harmless

And why would an all powerful being give two hoots about the activities of consenting adults?

Looks like it's all man-made to me

Looks like it's all about power and control to me

Your sad attempt at drawing attention away from your brushing off hundreds of years of covered up child molestation by priests is not going to work.

1. Most wars were political.

2. Religious freedom can be sometimes also a bad thing. Like tolerating satanism occultism etc.

3. Good, society should be guided by christian values and principles, not hollywood satanism.

4. Only in islam.

5. No, sex before marriying and only for pleasure, andh omosexuality is not natural. Its natural to have sex for making kids, otherwise, not natural.

6. Yes, but they dont represent christian orthodoxy.
Your answers are revealing.

What do you mean by "most wars were political?" Are you trying to say there is no religious dimension to the Crusades? To the Moorish conquest of Spain? To the IRA/England "troubles" between Catholics and Protestanst? Between Jews and Muslims in Israel? There was no religious dimension to the wars in the Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan? Or the persecution of Muslims by the Chinese, of Muslims by Hindus, and of atheists in Muslim countries?

Are you a conspiracy theorist? Because when I hear "Hollywood Satanists" I think tin-foil hat.

Women's rights are an issue in Christianity (just ask the Christian Nationalist Speaker of the House who wants to outlaw no-fault divorce for everyone based on his religious beliefs). The right to abortion is a women's right that has been taken away because of religion. Conservative Christians have absolutely backwards views of women's role in society (see the Quiverful movement).

Your views on sex are your own; however religions impose them on those who do not agree.

Non-denominational megachuches are the only churches that are growing, so they kind of are mainstream.

Well because sexual immorality is basically self-harm obviously.

What does that have to do with the truth claims from the church? Just because some priests are bad people? Also theres no evidence for such cover-ups. You just hate christians.

Sure Christians are not perfect. But Christianity itself is a force of absolute goodness, and anything opposed to it, must be by definition evil, in fact purely evil satanic, demonic.
So you see nothing wrong with this:

Deuteronomy 21:18-21
18 - “If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,
19 - then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives,
20 - and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’
21 - Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Thats mosaic law, back then really troublesome people were executed because they could endanger the social cohesion. So i dont see a problem with that. Nowadays we have prisons etc. to deal with them.

This has to be a troll, right?
I really hope so actually

I think I might stop replying to him

He said persecuting the heretics is morally justifiable

As a heretic I take that personally

I think of Pope Francis were reading this thread he might excommunicate the OP of this thread for dragging the Catholic Church through the mud
