Why do you assume the answer others give you.

Often in discussion one can hear "I assume you mean this"
And what the assumption is, are far apart from the actual answer given.

Why do you assume you understand the answer is something else than give to you?

And why do you twist an answer given to you to suddenly mean the opposite of what was said?
People are trying to fit what they hear/read from others into their own understanding of the subject. How else are they to make sense of it? Also, in debate, a lot of people hear/read the words of others only to negate them, not to actually understand them, or even less to obtain any insight from them. I am amazed by how much time and energy gets wasted on this kind of debate for the sake of debate, only.

The strange thing is that most often i get the assumption toward something I say, it comes from people who have no religious beliefs.

Other believers seldom assume to know what was said.

Most people who now hold no religious beliefs have once held religious beliefs and considered them to be irrelevant to them or have other reasons to abandon them. They therefore do have knowledge of religion. You simply cannot assume that because they have no religious beliefs that they are ignorant of religion

I do not assume anything about atheists.

Why do you accuse me of things I do not do?

Why is it that every time someone ask a "critical question" the ones who are ssked turn it bsck at the questionair?

Is it difficult to answer question without asking back?

Did i say your name?? Did i specifically point my finger at you?
No i did not..

You assume i did.

You used the pronoun “you,” which would include everyone in your audience. Therefore, you spoke to me directly, regardless of whether or not you used my proper noun.

I assumed nothing.

I asked a question in OP nobody has yet given a clear answer.

And it will not be given.

Obviously to ask critical question only goes one way....something I knew already :)
