Why do you believe in your Religion?

Personally, I prove my Buddhist practice every day - I can see the differences between when I practice and when I don't. The practice works as long as I actually do it - when I don't do so, it doesn't. Pretty simple, really.

Well you are right, but that is not your belief, that is your experience. A belief is something you don´t trust, but you have experienced Buddhism practice, therefore you trust, not believe.

A belief would be: "My goal is to attain enlightment", that is a belief, because you haven´t experienced enlightment.

Why do you believe in your Religion?
Because believing in other people's religions would be silly. :monkey:

Could you please explain what you believe about your Religion?
Everything. And that's not even a frivilous response. I don't belong to a religious organization, but with my religious outlook anything is possible.

What happens if I do not believe in the way you do?
That's okay. You go your way, and I'll meet you at the other end. ;)

OK, I'll restate:

I am a Buddhist. I don't believe my religion, I practice it. No belief required.

People believe in what they believe, simply because they have been totally indoctrinated, since birth, into a whole 'cultural' / 'religious' ideology which they call society. Just as a Christian will cling to the NT, a Jew to the OT, and a Muslim to the Quran, it is merely a matter of indoctrination from childhood.:cover:

Personally, I have no religion, i.e. "BELIEF system". Beliefs / religions are totally futile. What we need is KNOWLEDGE, i.e. genuine Gnosis.

Peace & Love :)

I'm a Baha'i.

I was an atheist for many years, and undertook a study of religions with a view of figuring out why so much of humanity might be so deluded, and instead I saw the commonalities and connections between them. That's how I ran across the writings of
Baha'u'llah.

Heck, I could write a book on the details of why I believed he was what he claimed to be. Is there anything specific or some particular angle you're looking for, so I could maybe give you a better answer?

Who is Bahullah? Did he claim to be divine too?

Can you share more about Buddhism. Who is the founder and why should we follow Buddah? Did he claim divinity or deity too?

Do all humans die and end up together at the same end? How about the good people and the bad people? If someone was murdered, will he end up in the same destination with the person that murdered him?

I know many who have rejected the religion of their childhood. I also know others who have accepted a religion that they were not raised in by their parents. I also know people who believe in what they were brought up in. Knowledge is good. How do we know if we found true knowledge?
