Why do you cry if you are a atheist ?

Why do we Cry ?

It doesn't lessen our actual trouble.
But, yes it does lessen the trouble of our mind.

But, what is the trouble with our mind which gets lessen after some time whereas the actual trouble still stands on the same place where it was ?

Child cry on their first day to school, Why?
Because in such a situation child seeks the help of parent to go back home.
But, after some time child realise that.. Now, parent is no longer there to help at all. Hence, child have to manage on its own. Finally, the child stop crying whereas the actual trouble still stands on the same place where it was ?

Likewise.. Mind seeks the help of God.

If you are a TRUE-ATHEIST than don't cry.
But, if you cry than you believe there's God somewhere.

I believe that emotions are simply what occur when the brain needs to express psychic (neural) energy due to a big change in stress in one's environment. To the extent that one's experience impinges on one's sense of safety or the ability to satisfy our instinctual needs, that expression of emotion is fairly independent of one's philosophical views. But with our complex overlay of culture and beliefs, we may certainly experience emotions in less than survival oriented ways.

We cry because no matter who created us we were created with brains that cause crying to happen when great loss is experienced and accepted.

I'm sure no one is always happy. People from all beliefs experience depression. That's one thing that ties us all together. As a Secular Humanist I like to emphasize what makes us all closer not what separates us. There's plenty to separate humanity, but we all have the same emotions. I'm sure an atheist and a Christian can cry just as much about the ghetto poverty that is so much pain for millions. One thing that we all look for is peace, and that can only be found by accepting what we cannot change and working for a better future for humanity. There's always something precious for us to cling to, that's humanity, and it doesn't just mean the most favorable people. It means all life matters because we are all interconnected. How can I say what is a right for me is not a right for my fellow man?

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me bring love.
Where there is offense, let me bring pardon.
Where there is discord, let me bring union.
Where there is error, let me bring truth.
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith.
Where there is despair, let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness, let me bring your light.
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy.
O Master, let me not seek as much
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love,
for it is in giving that one receives,
it is in self-forgetting that one finds,
it is in pardoning that one is pardoned,
it is in dying that one is raised to eternal life." The Prayer of Saint Francis, what I see as a true expression of the Christian faith.

Is this post intended to promote mass conversions because of the tears that it necessarily causes?

Since many people cry without asking for help from anyone or anything, but, instead, are just using it as a release of emotions, why does this claim of yours even make sense.

In other words, obviously not everyone who cries is asking God for help. Claiming otherwise is simply dishonest. So, why do you think people who cry must, necessarily believe in god if, often, crying has nothing to do with god?
You may not be asking for help when you cry, at least in your conscious mind. The cry is not an admittance of God, at least if you decide its not. The cry and everything related to it does not come from an intellectual place. It comes from an "infinite life" stuck in a mortal body that has been made subject to the realm of our emotions, thoughts and reasons. The prince still serves the beast until the beast sees its real value is in the prince. The cry may be an evidence of oneness.

I pretty much stopped crying when I was four or five. I was out in a field alone and did something, hurt myself pretty good blood and such. I was a kid and started crying. That's what kids do when they get hurt.

So I sat there a while crying and nobody came. Nothing got any better. I suddenly thought to my self, why am I crying? Crying's not going to fix anything.

Guess I stopped praying later on when I realize prayer wasn't going to fix anything either.

Yes the mind will create imaginary beings to support itself. The mind has lots of tricks to deal with our emotional distress. Doesn't really fix problems, just make folks feel better about stuff.

If you want to actually fix problems you got to learn to sit all that emotional stuff aside.
Sounds like your savior just changed positions. You learned it was in you all along.

What evidence do you have to support this claim? I wholeheartedly disagree, but I would be interested to see what you base this claim on.

Your own quote "If God exists, he always has, and we certainly haven't found him yet. My biggest fear is settling on what could be an illusion when the truth might be attainable". It truly is an endless search trying to find someone through knowledge who is at the root of your being. Truth is uncovered, not found
Maybe its like the old country song line "looking for love in all the wrong places, looking for (truth) in too many faces" Maybe we don't know love till we look in the mirror and find God looking back at us.
Yes truth and love are a presence, not a doctrine.

Tear is physical thing and its related to our physical head, not emotions.
Whereas sorrow/cry isn't a physical thing, its related to our emotions.

Am talking about emotions, brother
. :)
Emotions are physical chemicals within our physical brains are as every one of your thoughts and feelings. No part of you that exists isn't physical I'm afraid.

So, you just made this hypothesis up not based on any evidence whatsoever?

Debated whether I should respond. This OP is incredibly stupid.

Tears are an indication of a particular emotional state. Everyone, regardless of belief or lack of belief has numerous emotional states. Therefore, atheists can cry. And laugh. And fear. And love, etc.

I have been an atheist all of my life. And I have cried. So get over yourself.

So why do atheist's cry and why do christians laugh?
It is probably because they react as a human being towards their surroundings.

Whether you believe in yourself or you believe in God, the only change believe or lack of it can make is personal. You will figure it out on your own. It is nature. The only difference is how you analyze your karma afterwards.

If you fail and you misbehave:

Atheists might say, i dont care, some might cry, judge themselves, some might say **** you and **** this i am going home.
And some believers might say: Oh God i messed up. or Please God take my worries, or cry and judge themselves then ask forgiveness from the Lord or they might even say: well flip off i am going home.

God is not responsible for what you do, God only judges what you did.

What's a true atheist, and why can't they have human emotions? Present your evidence, please.
There's NO ONE atheist according to me. All are theists.
Actually, atheists pretend to be atheists, but's in reality they aren't.

And from that point of view, yes they are also humans, and yes they also have all human emotions by default :)

But, don't worry I won't tell on you :)

When my aunts arm was severed in a bomb explosion i cried, no god involved, just terrorists in the name of god.

When my twins were awarded joint first in class i cried, really they should not even have been born, they were despite the odds and are both successful students

When my husband was diagnosed with cancer, i cried, do you expect any other reaction from a human being? All human beings...

Crying is a natural response to emotion, no god required.

You really need to learn some psychology before making bold and untrue statements.

I think I am a true atheist, but that does not take away my humanity. Especially in my old age, I have grown quite emotional. It embarrasses me before my grandchildren, but I cannot help it. If I see a soap opera where people suffer or when I see peoples' success stories, getting ahead in spite of poverty, that brings tears to my eyes. How does crying or a few tears in the eye mean that I have become a God follower? As you know, Chinu, there are tears of joy/happiness as well.
