Why do you love God?

Lady B

I think we could rephrase the question.."Why do you love god?" And open it up a bit in order to answer honestly. Why do you think that you love God? How do you know your really loving God? Would God be happy with how you love him?

I would go further to suggest we do not Love God, I do not love him as I should, as he deserves and as He himself has defined, do you? Do we approach God with fear and trembling and in awe of his Holiness? In My opinion we are too casual in our Love, we are loving him when our emotions dictate our desire to love Him,and when our emotions are assuaged by other means, we forget our devotion some or even entirely. Perhaps I am alone, But I would say I do not Love God as God has defined Love. It isn't a question of why? But a question of why not?

I love Jesus Christ my Savior and God because He first loved me in spite of my shortcomings and sin.

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:17-19

Do you need a reason to love someone? And can you really love someone (including God) wrong? Sometimes the way we show love is wrong, but the love itself isn't wrong ("smothering" someone, for instance- always wanting to be around that person- which can become rather annoying).

I love God because I love God- I see Him as a parent figure, in a way.

I love God for the same reasons that everyone mentioned above but I also love him because he is so good to me, even when I mess up. There is a science to love that in a sense becomes so beautiful that I fall into a metaphysical state of mind. I love him with all my heart and in a way that is selfless so that I may love those around me as well.

I am reminded of the love of Mother Teresa which was always selfless in the way of the mystics. I am in love with love in a way that love knows only love and in a way that love becomes the knowledge for which I profess a uniformity to the design and creation of the universe. In a sense I am madly and with sereneness in a way that defines the being in a way of Light. In my light I seek the love of the word in a way that is without beginning and end. There is Light in my love that brings me to a state of magic in a sense that is so magical that I bend the with the light of my Love. It is in poetry that I seek my heart and I seek it in the way that is mystical to the point of dawning a new era of life in a life that was previously devoid of love in a way that was selfless. It is in Love that we learn to love, yet if there is no Light in your love you must seek the Word in you love.

I hope all that makes sense. I get tripped from time to time in my quest for love and it always occurs when I think of myself and forget the impulse of the heart which is from God.

Thank You and may you be blessed in the heart of your discontent.
