I think we could rephrase the question.."Why do you love god?" And open it up a bit in order to answer honestly. Why do you think that you love God? How do you know your really loving God? Would God be happy with how you love him?
I would go further to suggest we do not Love God, I do not love him as I should, as he deserves and as He himself has defined, do you? Do we approach God with fear and trembling and in awe of his Holiness? In My opinion we are too casual in our Love, we are loving him when our emotions dictate our desire to love Him,and when our emotions are assuaged by other means, we forget our devotion some or even entirely. Perhaps I am alone, But I would say I do not Love God as God has defined Love. It isn't a question of why? But a question of why not?
