Why does the believer in God's existence have the burden of proof?

You misrepresent faith, by using mere belief in its place.

And the poorest form of belief at that, IMO. The one that attempts to sustain itself on the idea of a creator god and an afterlife arbitrarily ruled by his will.

did you notice the quote from Webster's?....

Actually, non-believers in any particular religious belief are vastly outnumbered by people who don't believe it. All of Christianity makes up less than 50% of humanity, that means more people disbelieve it than believe it. Try chopping that down to much smaller numbers when you realize there are more than 44,000 distinct sects and you're only talking about a relative handful of people who believe any particular thing.
hmmm....50% of humanity is Christian.....
you left out the Muslims and the Jews.

That was the whole point.
More people disbelieve the Christian dogma than believe it.

You can replace the "christian" qualifier with any religion of choice and the claim that Cephus is making still works.

Muslims could be looked at as technically a Christian religion because they follow Jesus and his teachings and worship the same God, so if you add Christians to Muslims, you're at about 50% or more.

And, they are both technically sects of Judaism, as they worship the God of Abraham.

Are you so desperate to pad the numbers of your religion that you would try to claim people who reject the idea of Jesus as God or messiah, and who think that the Christian Bible is full of errors?

The issue being discussed was how many people believe in God, not how many people believe Jesus is God.

This is not exactly true. From this argument we see the point in the igtheist stating God is ill-defined.

Jesus is God is a specific definition of God that is distinct from other definitions of God. If you wanted to take the mystics approach and say all of these definitions are the same, then you have yet another specific definition of God.

The original reference in this thread was to God believers outnumbering non believers, said nothing about Jesus.
