Summary: For the last several years there has been a lot of public outcry that Harry Potter author JK Rowling is transphobic. (I'll link to a few summary articles below, but this controversy is easily discovered via your favorite search engine.)

Do you think that what she's said or done is transphobic?
Can you give specific examples of such speech or behavior?
Can you explain why something she said or did is transphobic?

Why was J.K. Rowling canceled? The 'Harry Potter' author's controversies explained.

The way I understand it, Rowling has said and done things some of us consider transphobic. However, I suspect that you might have a higher standard of proof when it comes to what's considered "transphobic" than some of us. In which case, you probably wouldn't find her comments transphobic.

IMO.

I think your summary is pretty accurate. It could be that she has demonstrated transphobia, but it seems to me that before the mob verbally pummels a person, the evidence ought to be of "a high standard", correct?

Sincerely, thanks for adding that link.

But I'd still like to apply the questions in the OP to what's in the article you just showed us.

So for example the article says: "Daniel Radcliffe speaks out..". That would not be an answer to the questions in the OP.

So feel free to quote from the article. Can you give a specific example or two of how YOU think her behavior(s) are transphobic?

(And as Christopher Hitchens said: "Don't take refuge in the false security of consensus.")

No i gave a link to an article that gives specific examples. Anything i said would just be cloning the link.

I personally don't care i gave the link to help your curiosity

So do you agree that she's been transphobic or are you neutral or...? (I'm trying to understand you when you said "I personally don't care".)

Because, I think the link you offered added a few examples, but was largely in step with the two articles I linked to in the OP.

Actually it was don't care about your request to repeat the article. Sorry for the confusion.

As a longtime Potterhead, I don't participate in the fandom anymore because of the immense dissension that her remarks have caused among the fans. The fact is that her controversial remarks and her decision to continue being controversial have caused thousands of Harry Potter fans to speak out against her (including many of the cast and crew of the films and the most prominent Harry Potter fan sites). In my opinion, she has bitten the hand that feeds her.

Thousands of HP fans have turned against her, and that has negatively affected the fandom. Many fans have separated the art from the artist and don't acknowledge her anymore, or if they do, they refer to her as "She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" or have compared her to Delores Umbridge. Some fans have suggested that she re-read the book series so she will be reminded that one of the perpetual themes in them is the ongoing struggle to stand up against the bigotry of the purebloods (with the exception of the Weasleys) and the prominent discrimination in the wizarding world against those who aren't pureblood (muggles, muggleborns, squibs), part-human creatures (centaurs, werewolves), and magical creatures, such as house elves and goblins.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're not basing your assessment on what she actually said, you're basing it on the crowd's reactions?

To be honest, I am not pleased with what she has said because her controversial remarks have hurt a lot of transgender fans, including some of my dear transgender friends. I stopped participating in the fandom because it became too toxic for me due to all the arguments and verbal attacks among other fans that I read online or witnessed in person. I became the target of cyberbullying and had to leave some of the HP fan groups I had joined on Facebook.

Ok, back to the OP, what do YOU think she has said that's "transphobic"? I understand that other people think she's transphobic. I'm curious to understand why YOU (or any other poster) thinks she is. What did she say, and why is what she said transphobic?

Sorry, but I'm not getting into this redundant argument again. Been there, done that, and I don't want to repeat it.
