Why is everyone here at RF?

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
I'm here to seek and explore. I love different perspectives and different ways of thinking, believing, questioning.

I'm not here to be social, nor anti social.

I have a neverending quest to discover truth and there are many diverse forums here to do that.

Hindu philosophy sounds interesting. Christianity and Islam i'm not at all interested in. Science and critical thinking are interesting to me in terms of what can be known, and what is true, and how people feel they are able to refute things.

The concept of God can be interesting, but often not.

Spirituality can be very interesting or totally bonkers.

Those religions I am opposed to I try to separate the good people from the bad religion. Just because people belong to bad religions doesn't necessarily make them bad people. I can appreciate the inspiring reasons people make well of their bad religions.

Are there any religions that would be compatible with ietsism?

Politics is something I find to be necessary, but repugnant, and very maddening.

I've been here, back and forth, off and on for about 8 years. I read more than I post.

Me too! :)

I am definitely here to be social.

If I want to be anti social, I save it for @Secret Chief .

I agree. I like both takes on it. I have an appreciation for [well meaning] bonkers.

I may be the opposite. I don't think there's bad religions, just people misusing them.

Not necessarily that they're bad people, just ignorant.

I vote, but otherwise, don't play.

I originally joined to talk to other Theistic Satanists a dozen years ago, after lurking for awhile. Then a bunch of other things happened including various worldview changes back and forth and hardships. Now the religious viewpoints I joined to connect with are all but dead here. It's basically just Abrahamic stuff, (really hateful) political crap and some Hindu stuff in their DIR. It's alienating now.

Awesome!
I am definitely here to be social.
I talk about stuff on RF that I don't easily talk about in person.
If I want to be anti social, I save it for @Secret Chief .
Lucky for Secret Chief!

Lol. Irrationality rules!

Eternal heck if I know!
Not necessarily that they're bad, just ignorant.
Ignorance is a constant battle.
I keep seeing this word on the forums. What is it?
An unspecified belief in a transcendent eternal reality.

Ietsism is a Dutch term that describes a range of beliefs that people may hold without subscribing to a specific religion. Ietsists may believe that there is something beyond the ordinary that can be known or proven, but they don't accept any particular religion's view of a deity. They may also consider the possibility that humans are gods, as some Eastern philosophies teach. Ietsists don't claim to know anything for sure about spirituality, and they may appreciate Christianity while still not identifying as Christians.

I vote, but otherwise, don't play.
Self preservation?

I think way too much! Lol. Thanks!

I'm here because its like a reading book.
Some days its like reading the same chapter over again.
Some days new threads become new chapters.
There are many authors from all walks of life adding drops of thoughts to it every day.
I agree with this! It's a drama, a play, research paper, and anything else you can think of.

Thanks!

Not that I mind, but why do you save it for those of us of RF?
Lucky for Secret Chief!
He is very fortunate to get so much attention from me.
Lol. Irrationality rules!
It really does. Look about. Very little of our human world is rational. We pretend it is, but I just doesn't seem to be.
Eternal heck if I know!

Ignorance is a constant battle.
It is. Out in the public, and in one's personal life.
An unspecified belief in a transcendent eternal reality.
Thanks for sharing that bit. It seems wise.
Self preservation?
I don't know what else I can do other than vote. The nature of my life leaves me chained pretty tight to home.

Bickering about it with people on the internet won't change anything. I'm fairly sure I won't change any views, so I keep it to myself.

In a way, keeping myself away from the drama of things that cannot be helped is indeed self preservation.
I think way too much! Lol. Thanks!

I'm here to explore religious, philosophical, and sociological thoughts and relationships. I enjoy "thinking" as long as it doesn't get too intense and overly concrete. I'm a ponderer, muller, a contemplator.

I can't really say it's to socialize, but I certainly have grown to think a great deal of many posters and get a kick out of the friendly banter shared.

Ietsism sounds a bit similar to the religious thought I most relate to -- Omnism: No religion has it all right, but all religions have something right.

Morality, religion, truth, politics, debate etc. is all hot button topics to me.

It's those emotions things, who can understand them lol.

I have disabilities, but I manage my own home.

I see! Maybe! I think if it comes down to bickering probably not.

The wisdom to know the difference perhaps.
What's your sign?
Cancer, why do you ask?

Maybe some religions have insights, I'm not an Omnist.

There are very patient, friendly posters here indeed.

Thanks!

I fell asleep on the bus and woke up here.

I've been waiting for the next one for 16 years now.

It's dark here and I ran out of cigarettes a long time ago.
.

(Saxophone music plays in the background)

No seriously, I'm still here because at this point my leaving would drop too much work into too few laps.

They can be.

Do you think they can be discussed civilly, out and about?
It's those emotions things, who can understand them lol.
I don't think they're meant to be understood.

Yet, they rule...

Wonderful you have opportunity to do that! Managing a home brings many joys and challenges.
I see! Maybe! I think if it comes down to bickering probably not.
I seldom see when it doesn't.

I'm chained to my computer. I plugged into an end user program like Tron, and now I'm trapped in RF land. I'm looking for the MCU.

So it's all work here then?

Appropriately enough, there's a rumor that Thanos just bought the place (apparently he's looking for the Banality stone to complete his set).
So it's all work here then?

That's one word for it. :p

Recently I've tried milking some fun out of the place again too but I'm having mixed results.
