Why is the eating of pork forbidden in Islam?

I know what you mean... I like to eat duck when I need to fly somewhere. Or a bear or something when I get in a fight.... Maybe a cheetah when I have to race. All good choices.

I've heard from a legitimate source that Viagra is nothing but crushed up horse penis.

A message to Seyorni who turned this topic to a veg and non-veg debate, and to all of the hindus
Hindu scriptures permit meat ,Seyorni prefers useing the word vedanta to the loanword word in Arabic language "Hindu" which means Indian. Seems right vedanta means follower of the vedas.
So what with the speach against non-vegetarianism?
Regveda Book.10 humn.16 v.10: You can have meat.
Regveda Book.10 humn.85 v.13 and Regveda Book.10 humn.86 v.13 say the same thing
See more refrence in the Hindu scriptures and Bible YouTube - Zakir Naik - Is Non-Veg Food Prohibited in Major religions?

How did you come to this conclusion, Zhakir? Did I make some reference to vegetarianism? I don't recall making any dietary dietary recommendations at all. I discussed the Middle Eastern ban on pork from an anthropological perspective, that's all.

Re your "message to all the Hindus:" Yes, ancient Hindu's ate meat. Scholars of Indian history all know this, and a lot of Indians today eat meat.
Yes, you can find plenty of references to meat eating, war, and all sorts of activities in Hindu scriptures.

The common Hindu reticence about eating meat can be explained anthropologically and historically, just as the Jewish/Muslim food prohibitions can -- without reference to divine revelations and sacred writings.

And what's this about my "preference" for Vedanta over Hinduism? Are you hinting that I'm trying to hide something?
Get over yourself. I'm an open book.

hmmm.
My source says whale penis.

Perhaps they are different doses?

Hmm, I think further investigation is needed. However, it is clear from this thread that Viagra must contain penis from some type of well-endowed animal. Or, perhaps simply rabbit?

Perhaps the rabbit ones are merely a really low dosage?

Or perhaps the rabbit penis is added to all of them for the added stamina?

His intent is to throw you off with trivial unrelated comments since he cannot actually respond, with intelligence, to what you have been saying.

FRUBALS for your honesty

No need to offer anything for what is part of my nature to begin with. Praise Yah! To me the title of "Fanatic" is a compliment. I strive to be as fanatical as I can be when it comes to doing my Fathers will. I am very zealous to do his will. All praise and glory be to Yah my Elohim. HalleluYah! Yah thanks you for the frubals. For I am nothing without him. All belongs to him.

seyorni pretty much hit the nail on the head in post #4 of why pork is forbidden- it's wasteful.

There's not need to make up crap about pigs being "dirty" (uh, do you realize chickens take dust baths and that's mud just without water?) or eating their poop (pigs don't eat their poop!) or meat-borne illnesses (when other meats have more dangers associated with them). Islam is against waste and excess and environmental pollution- isn't that enough for y'all?

I just think it's creepy to eat pigs because they're so amazingly intelligent- much smarter than dogs. That and pig organs like skin can be used for humans in transplants... it's almost like cannibalism.

And certainly no less subject to disease than chicken. Chickens also behave much worse than pigs. I like to hear roosters crowing in the morning, but I don't think I've ever met a chicken I really liked.

You should meet my chickens, they're fun. :) My two australorps are also lesbians- they aren't going to have babies anytime soon because they're both hens but that's not stopping them from getting it on, LOL!

What exactly is there to reply to, Zhakir? The truth is that there are fanatics in all religions, not just Islam.
gwk230 has many misconceptons about Islam, but I didn't mention it in my reply though. and i wished he gives us his opinion in other threads like http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/religious-debates/85897-why-man-allowed-have-more-than.html . My message to him that Islam is different. I think he thinks well as whole
I liked this this steatment,
So really and truly, to me, it does not matter if some man that esteems himself as a “Great one”, as in the true meaning of the Hebrew word “rabbi”, makes up his own rules through his own thoughts and feelings as to Torah or not. If I followed the man made religion of rabbinical judaism I might be forced within my understanding to abide by such nonsense
And i wanted those jewish whom i think this message is pointed to, to reply to it .

no need to reply, hatred blocks common sense. He can feel that way if he wants to. we already had one character in our history who though he is smarter then all.
