When it comes to lucifer and god why do we have to choose one? i mean if you look at every body no matter who they are they have a good side and a bad side.They can be mean one second and nice the next.So if we have a good side and a bad side why can't we belive in two gods such as god for your good side and lucifer for your bad side?why do we have to choose one god wether its the one considerd evil or the one thats not when we have a good and a evil side?

Well, from a Christian perspective, it comes down to commandment one:

I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

This "no other gods" is repeated in the NT in various places. Christians do not believe Lucifer was equal to God. He was a creation of God, therefore, he cannot be equal.

You know the image of having an angel on one shoulder telling you to do the right thing and the devil on the other telling you to do what you want(which is almost always the 'wrong' thing).

You have to acknowledge the existance of both of these 'influences' however, the only way to find peace and happiness and joy, is to believe and give faith in the one that his higher than both. You have to give faith to the one who will balance the two.

The new picture I give you is Jesus on one shoulder, Satan on the other, and God standing over all of you making sure everybody plays fair.

My friend, I understand your feelings. But it would be the same as if I got two teachers that contradict each other to try to teach you. It cannot work, the only result is that you'll be left more confused than what you originally were. That's why I investigate all things and only keep what I think makes sense to me. That's an attitude that works for me, I think that if everyone adopted it that we'd be more happy people.

hail-satan666, I know exactly what ur talking about, since I actually do believe in 2 eternal deities, and no I don't think the darker entity is completely evil, but I cannot follow him. I respect the fact that I'm in his universe, and that his universe nurtures many. But I believe in a more compassionate deity that seeks only love (not judgement), and a universe with no suffering or imperfection. And that far off place is where I'd like to spend eternity someday. I'm not exactly against the Creator, he's just not my God.

There were a group of medieval luciferians who actually did worship both Satan and God though; and ironically it was Christ that was seen as the evil angel, Satan was the favored son of God to them lol

Well considering Lucifer is in rebellion against the Lord, how could you worship both, it would seem that it would be playing both sides, and neither would take kindly to it. In fact if I remeber correctly the Bible says it is better to be hot than lukewarm.

the way i read this is...non-jews have the luxury of worshipping other things for they were given to them by G-d Himself but for the Jews it is only to HaShem they pray and worship to...a being w/o form or image...infinite

as to the topic...if a non-jew wishes to worship 1, 2 or 50 deities they can...but to be truely monotheistic either G-d IS or He isn't, which means the concept of The satan being anything but His servant makes you a dualist

I agree, though christianity isn't radical dualism, it's still dualism no matter how you look at it.

Monarchian Dualism: The belief system that God has an eternal or long-term temporal enemy, though inferior to him, none-the-less has his own cosmic sphere of independant activity. This can take two forms within Christianity. The mainstream belief that Satan fell from heaven and now perverts God's world into wickedness, temptation, etc. And the more obscure belief that Satan fell from heaven and then created his own universe, mankind, etc.
