Why One God

Doesn't make sense to me.

I am of the opinion that there is more than One God. The Gods if you will.

This is because as I see it, something as complex as the Universe, with as many functioning and moving parts as it has, would take Many hands to Create; just like a complex open world RPG takes Many programmers to Create.

As things increase in complexity (cars, phones, houses), the number of creators always increases.

A Perfect Universe, does not mean we have only One perfect God. (I also don't think the universe is perfect, but that's a seperate issue).

Or another way to put it for @firedragon

1. Gods are Necessary beings for an Ordered universe and are Creators
2. To create, the creators have to have a will.
3. If there are two or more Gods there has to be two or more different wills.
4. Two or more wills bring about cooperation, and increase the overall complexity of the finished product (much like our cosmos)
5. The Gods are Many

OK, misunderstanding. But even if we assume the gods would behave as humans do, what we see is more compatible with a committee than a single mind.

I agree. Quite honestly, that would explain much.
One only has to look at the state of humanity to see the amount of disunity.
So, the gods are in a sense no better than us(bar having super powers).

Even if I did believe in gods(which I have come close to), I don't see any reason to worship them(unless threatened!)

I remember Conan(the Barbarian 1982) challenging his god(Crom) to help him or not. I was impressed that he could relate to his god that way).

They solved it quite simple in India:
a) 0 Gods for those who believe in 0 Gods
b) 1 God for those who believe in 1 God
c) n Gods for those who believe in n Gods

IF
each person just picks his own choice
THEN
there is no problem, right?
ELSE
trying to convince others...troubles arise:D

Dharmic Religions are more focused on introspection, whereas Abrahamic Religions tend to focus a lot on what others believe, which clearly is shown by their evangelizing

What is the real question you have?
IF you solve this underlying question THEN your OP question will be solved en passant ;)

One God with many realms of manifestation.

One existential mystery with many aspects of human response.

Makes sense to me.

@The Hammer I was told, when I asked the same question, that "if there was a committee of gods there would disagreements and the world would be in havoc."

Talk about anthropomorphism!..go figure
Far as my research found any explanation, that seems to indeed be the justification used by Muslims to explain why they are so adamant that their god is and must be not just one and only, but also without associates.

The god of the Qur'an has some very interesting ideological, psychological and sociological views and attributes. Very anthropocentric ones, if one is honest.

Islam God should be most important in Islam I always thought, but after some reflection...yes, you are right. Not that strange to me, as humans wrote it after all.

If they would put all humans equally as "most important" than it's even quite good

anthropocentric:
regarding humankind as the central or most important element of existence, especially as opposed to God or animals.

No there's only Three and they are all One.
I don't understand why you need a bunch of God's unless you have puny gods who aren't too bright.

I had a muslim tell me it's cuz there can only be one king...
As in there can only be one person in charge of the universe cuz you can't have multiple kings. Too much chaos.

Im sorry...
But even on the human realm there is not only one person ruling over everyone on earth.

I told them this...they missed my point entirely and said God won't allow only one world ruler. Cuz he's the one world ruler

I was confused as to why he was only insisting only one god can rule over the universe when even us humans have figured out how to have multiple rulers over different lands. There's a president of the United States for instance. But they have no power over say Germany.

Not to mention there's multiple forms of government among humans why they insisted on there being a king instead of another form of government when it comes to complex gods I dont know.

And gods ARENT EVEN HUMANS! They are gods. Different type of being

the following is one reason. it comes from the law of one

Ra: I am Ra. Consider, if you will, that the universe is infinite. This has yet to be proven or disproven, but we can assure you that there is no end to your selves, your understanding, what you would call your journey of seeking, or your perceptions of the creation.

That which is infinite cannot be many, for many-ness is a finite concept. To have infinity you must identify or define that infinity as unity; otherwise, the term does not have any referent or meaning. In an Infinite Creator there is only unity. You have seen simple examples of unity. You have seen the prism which shows all colors stemming from the sunlight. This is a simplistic example of unity.

In truth there is no right or wrong. There is no polarity for all will be, as you would say, reconciled at some point in your dance through the mind/body/spirit complex which you amuse yourself by distorting in various ways at this time. This distortion is not in any case necessary. It is chosen by each of you as an alternative to understanding the complete unity of thought which binds all things. You are not speaking of similar or somewhat like entities or things. You are every thing, every being, every emotion, every event, every situation. You are unity. You are infinity. You are love/light, light/love. You are. This is the Law of One.

May we enunciate this law in more detail?

the following is understood from another vantage point.

They make, however, the following assertion: he who says that all things derive consistence from one, is in error; but he who says that they are of three, is in possession of the truth, and will furnish a solution of the (phonomena of the) universe. For there is, says (the Naassene), one blessed nature of the Blessed Man, of him who is above, (namely) Adam; and there is one mortal nature, that which is below; and there is one kingless generation, which is begotten above, where, he says, is Mariam70 the sought-for one, and Iothor the mighty sage, and Sephora the gazing one, and Moses whose generation is not in Egypt, for children were born unto him in Madian; and not even this, he says, has escaped the notice of the poets.

O human theory as science for the human gain of technology resource is one... the planet earth. One body one origin mass.

Held fixed mass that a human can manipulate change then use as a theist designer. Said by a human standing atop of one planets body.

As in theory other bodies elsewhere as one bodies...no human owns any other body but a human type.

As a human isn't a planet hence it cannot be the one God. Or a God.

Reasoned a sun consumed it's body.

The earth owned it's created heavens from a heated O held mass.

O beginnings heavens was inside planet with no heavens just one planet. So you can't theory one.

Today a sun still consumes its own body.

Earth still owns it own heavens.

Two places of molten burning heat states a human doesn't want to own either beginning place where the heavens came from or was changed by.

As common sense says what one is.... if aware reality still exists in human consensus consciousness.

Terms of agreement by the many.

Three body types of no end.
Garden nature millions of types.
Animals.
Humans.

Three body types own no beginning own no end. Just presence you see first. Observe all one types of whole bodies by three types.

You see you name as the word you use is instant.

The heavens surpasses all space by spirit that owns space filling in. So within it we are greater than the universe of emptiness infinite. Is living fact observed conscious human reality.

As you can't put any other body mass inside our gas space. You can't travel through mass finite number. You can however be aware by the heavens total filling in of empty space.

A human aware teaching. You virtually travelled the whole spatial emptiness aware by living inside a heavens.

A theme.

body or matter
spirit or power-elan-will

Indeed.

That difficulty in mutual understanding seems to be very sincere from the Muslim side, and I think that the reason why is fairly clear.

Islam is a doctrine that uses a very specific conception of deity and shapes itself accordingly.

As one would reasonably expect, Islam (like most or all doctrines) proposes certain values and goals to be considered as worthy and disregards, neglects or opposes others that might be favored by competing doctrines. Which is fair enough, of course.

But it is just as reasonable to point out the (fairly obvious) fact that the end result are specific flavors of doctrine and deity that don't converge all that much with others.

More to the point, that lack of convergence is a big deal for Muslims. The contrast with Hinduism is very enlightening and, perhaps, a bit confusing or even disturbing for those who are not used to the freedom of interpretation that Hinduism offers.

At the end of the day, the role, needs and limitations that Muslims expect their god to have are simply not very similar to those of other doctrines and beliefs.

It is only a problem because many people fail to expect that to be the real situation.
