Why reject atheism?

To be honest the one thing that doesn't appeal to me about atheism is the common insistance by atheists that people who follow or believe any religious or spiritual things are insane or stupid, which is not necessarily consistant with research done on the subject. In fact, a general culture of over-reliance on "lack of mental illness" and "high IQ" as the only traits which makes a person's existence and ideas worth listening to (in certain circles) is a complete turn-off for me. Even though many atheists do claim to hold purely scientific values, they are just as fallible to falling for non-scientific beliefs as the average person is. As a person who has struggled with mental health issues I personally do NOT feel welcome in the atheist community.

Inspired by another thread:

Why would anyone reject atheism? If someone does reject atheism, what do they see as being wrong with atheism that they should reject it? How can someone reject the failure to believe in a or any proposed deity?

Please discuss! And remember, this is NOT a venue for debate! Discussion ONLY!
1) it's not a good idea to blindly accept theories that have not been adequately demonstrated; and 2) atheism is not a failure to believe in gods... we are not required to believe in gods, so there is no failing in lacking belief.

Still don't know what that means. Sorry, not trying to be difficult. What is the outcome of rejecting atheism? Belief in...something? Anything?

I'm not sure people actually work that way. They have a belief in God, not a rejection of atheism.
Anything can be rejected. You just have to say, "no."

It's not rocket science.

Nobody rejects atheism, they just choose the number of deity fables that they approach with an atheistic outlook. I just carry that, at least, one deity fable further that a theist does.

Don’t you think rejecting theism or rejecting deity is similar?
Rejecting Theism is simply rejecting the existence of God that Created our physical existence, and has a relationship with humanity through Revelation, prayer and contemplation. There are a number of alternatives to Theism.

They should not. Atheism is about as safe and harmless an idea as they come.

Not when it leads to communism and persecution of Christians. Look at North Korea and China with its state atheism. NK has become a fascist state and is the most dangerous. China has slowly changed, but it's a mixed bag. Christianity and other religions have spread, but the ruling communist party still is for state atheism.

You have that backwards. Their politics lead to atheism, atheism itself does not lead to communism. In fact if you look at many of the teachings of Jesus he leaned rather heavily to the communistic.

Because atheism rejects the essence of goodness and morality.

Consider. Christ taught love thy neighbor. But atheism rejects Christ so they must also reject what He taught as He said it came from the God atheists reject. So love one another is rejected by atheists as it came from God. No atheist made such a law.

The same with the Ten Commandments. If you reject God then you must also reject His Commandments. Thou shalt not kill or steal.

It would be the height of hypocrisy to accept what these Great Teachers taught ignoring that they came from a non existent God as far as atheists are concerned.

If you reject a God then you must also reject all the good things the Prophets taught. You can’t have it both ways.

Where did you get that idea from? Atheists are just as moral, if not more moral than Christians by almost any measure of "morality". Also your logic is faulty. Just because atheists do not believe the mythical aspects of Jesus's life does not mean that they reject the morals that he teaches. In fact the morals that Jesus taught were not unique to him, nor was he the first that came up with those morals.

So perhaps before you insult people that you do not understand you should do a little research first. You need to remember that your religion was nowhere near being the first to come up with moral laws.
