Why should I let you in?

Hey everyone!

I just found this forum and found it very interesting, and figure I should throw in my first post. My question is the following: When you die, and you go to heaven, and God says, “why should I let you in?” What will you say? It may seem like a general question, but I am curious what the different responses will be.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I'd tell God that I think he should let me into Heaven because I have accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour and was told that this would mean that I'd get to go to Heaven!

"If you're really omniscient, then you already know why."
"You're just mess'n with me."

"If you don't, I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your gates in!"

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

I don't believe that happens, so for me the question is moot.

My response would be that nature is responsible for my faults, so there is no point barring me for faults which you are capable of correcting but did not address.

What do you mean by "did not address"? From the Christian perspective, man's "sin" or rebellion against God's law was addressed, and corrected, in the Bible. Unless I'm misunderstanding your point.

Im not a Christian and do not recognise the words written by men called the Bible to have originated with God.

If the Bible is the best an all-knowing God can do it has some explaining to do in my opinion.

The only place in the Bible where a scene remotely like this is depicted is Matthew 25:

"When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee? And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’"

The question reminded me of God's of Egypt.

Like any good person who believes in reincarnation:

"Sir, unhand me and put me back this instant, thanks."
