Why the Way in Which Capitalism Creates Winners and Losers is Wrong

The difference is that you blame the system and I blame the people who employ the system. People want Walmart, people want the products more than they want to save a whale. The cold hard truth is that capitalism gives the people what they want. Your objection is to what the people want, not the system that is employed to get it.
People wanted slavery, and Jim Crow, too. Most people want more than what anyone else, has. Lots of people want to control and exploit each other. But we can't allow ourselves to do whatever we want if we're going to live together in a peaceful and prosperous society. And we are a social/cooperative species, so we can't really live successfully any other way.

Once we understand this, we will begin to understand the purpose of government, and why it sometimes must deny even the majority among us what we want.

Yeah, tyranny of the majority is understood. I don't think this is the problem. We are discussing capitalism here. That I pointed out that sunstones issue with capitalism is an issue with human kind, hardly points to a better resource allocation system than capitalism. I am not sure at what your driving.

Capitalism isn't about people. A capitalist system couldn't care less what people need or want, or who gets rich and who doesn't, or even how rich they get, and how good or bad this is for the rest of us. And it's not about free market ideology, either, as the capitalist's ultimate goal is an absolute monopoly. It's about rewarding greed by giving it the power to control our commerce, and thereby our lives.

Of course, that's a distinct question, but I think if you want some provision for compassion, etc, then you must look to regulations, etc.

I don't think you can regulate compassion. You can't force folks to feel compassion. You can only create laws against actions you feel are unjust.
