Why Would An Atheist Visit a Religious Forums Site?!

I was wondering if any Atheist come evolutionist might be able to tell me why they visit a Religious Forums site? it it because your realy searching your own soul but won't admit it? Is it because you just visist to slag and try and put people down who do believe and show a little love to humanity no matter what their religion but show and share and have an interest in a creator, Are you searching?? What does bring an atheist to a Religious Forums Site?? Or are you religious, well not religious, but spiritual, but playing a game??

Here is an implication in your original question that I am not sure you intended:

Did you mean to equate religious and theist?

I ask because I consider myself non-theist (as a Buddhist) but I am certainly religious. So there you have a reason for a non-theist to visit a religious forums site.

Other people come here for a good argument; some come to learn new viewpoints or have some questions answered by real practitioners rather than from printed material.

I'll give the same answer I give on the other threads with the same question.

This is not a religious forum, this is a Religious Education Forum. religion is part of our history and reality, and is a relevant topic of discussion and study for people.
What is the purpose of examining religion only from the POV of the 'believer'? where is the academic integrity in that?

BTW, does it bother you that there are sub forums on this 'religious forum' for Satanists? or Neo Pagans?

To be honest, the answer was within my question, for the Atheist to answer, as not all Atheist are? Relgious Forums is a great site that i am sure is glanced over by visitors from different Establishments just to see what's going on, on the deep thinkers side of the open information technology side of communication.

I would consider myself an Agnostic, but I'm sooooooo close to being Atheist. Atheists come to this online community to discuss, compare and debate religions, just like it says in the logo at the top of this forum.

I love here how you tried to put all religions into one nice, happy category, by saying they all have interest in a creator. You know how each religion feels about other religions - Christians believe Muslims will be tormented forever and the Muslims believe Christians will be tormented FOREVER!

I visit occaisionally because it can be interesting to see the perspective differences that exist when peoples views are shaped from the thousands of conflicting religious beliefs around the world, as opposed to those like myself who dismiss the possibility of a deity, or an afterlife when forming personal moral guidelines and ideas about the world around us.

Since I have come to be friends with a lot of atheists and read many of their posts I believe that most of them are well educated in many different religions and find it interesting to engage in debate or listen to the viewpoint and opinions expressed by others. Even though they disagree they are open to discussion and many of them are so intelligent that I can't help but listen to their theories.

Yes this question has been asked many times since I have been on this forum. I believe each atheist should put a signature on their avatar that says something like "Atheists like religious forums too" .... Or "Religion is cool, but Atheists rule".........Ya all have a nice day!

Same interests, different ideals of understanding.

Meaning what you may consider the 'creator' another might consider existence itself (mother-nature/creator of life). Some have different terms. A muslim might call the 'creator' Allah....... Another Krishna..... What makes one better than another except an opinion.

Living in the world of knowledge provides the 'evidence' of the evolution of knowledge. The beliefs share to be compassion, Love thy neighbor, follow the rules of association, be humble and the day WILL come that mankind will know the truth!

That is what to have faith in; that the truth will be revealed!

Across the board; that is what religions can be combined with; the truth!

I find it odd to think that people who are interested in discussion with people of different beliefs would necessarily be weak in their own beliefs.

What I am saying to a certain degree is why would an Atheist even be bothered with a Religious Forums site, is it not a waste of time in their view?? But the True Atheists within this thread,bless 'em, have told me what my innerself always knew anyway, but thanks Penguin
