Donald Trump Apology Caps Day of Outrage Over Lewd Tape

This morning, there are reports that at least a few prominent Republican politicians are now calling on Trump to bow out of the presidential race. If the movement continues and grows, do you think Trump will bow out? Why or why not?

BONUS QUESTION ONE: If Trump were to step down, would that be a good or a bad thing for Republicans in down ticket races?

BONUS QUESTION TWO: If Trump were to step down, would that be a good or a bad thing for Clinton?

It's not his way to back down in the face of controversy,
especially when he has a shot at winning.
This, pretty much.
Plus the fact that I suspect that more damage is being done downticket than to Trump himself. The Republican candidates in tight races are going to get hammered with ads linking them to Trump.

Personally, I hope he'll stay in the race because I think he's someone Clinton can beat. I'm not sure how she'd do against any other candidate. I think she's pretty weak and that running against Trump is her best chance for the presidency.

If you can read this, you are as lucky as I am.
Yep. The winning strategy for conservatives this cycle is put as much distance between yourself and the presidential candidate your party supports.

Strange times.

Perhaps.
Who knows if voters will dislike someone simply because they share party affiliation with him.

He won't bow out, but it's a possibility. This was a possibility last year. He's not finished yet, he wants to make sure republicans lose in November. He'll ride it out. Otherwise you'll see crooked Scotty Walker and his establishment cronies implanted.

The thing is that it isn't entirely about support or favorability ratings. It's getting people to vote. The single biggest voter demographic is the "non-voter". If a few percent more Republicans enter that category a ton of Capitol Hill and state level candidates are in huge trouble.

I don't disagree.
I just find it all too complex & rife possibilities to tip the election either way.
And I am not skilled in predicting voter behavior.

Trump will only step down if it is a good business decision. That is the only thing that will override his ego.

Trump stepping down would not help or hurt the Republican party the Damage has already been done.
Trump stepping down would give Clinton and the Democrats a massive victory.
