No, I don’t think it does matter at all. Anything you can do to avoid killing or harming another human being you are morally required to do.

Not when that other human is intending to harm or kill you.

You may lay down and allow someone to rape and murder you.

But we are allowed by law to defend ourselves with deadly force if necessary.

Perhaps if someone doesn't want to be shot, they should not be attacking people? Maybe? Just a suggestion.
