My wish for an India win will not be realised in this life time, given our physical state and requirement of the game, as shown above.

I wish that France wins this time. Because I loved Platini and Zidane. But I think that Brazil, the host country, is most likely to lift it.

I would expect Brazil to win, if they can handle the pressure - such a huge weight of expectation on their shoulders.

If not them, then Argentina.

To make up the semi-finals I would expect to see Belgium - I think they will surprise a lot of people. A very good team. The dark horses.

And Spain. Past their past and getting a bit long in the tooth, but still with quality players with a wealth of experience. Plus the heat and humidity will demand a much slower paced game which will suit them and their style of play.

I just have to add that I don't wish that Argentine would do it in Brazil

While we wait for the grand event we may review some special moments. I begin with Pele whom I consider the all time best, although he actually stopped playing about 1975, before my time. His unmatched dribbling skills left him vulnerable to most vicious physical tackles but he endured.

Pelé - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some brilliant dribbling:

Most viciously fouled player

The goal of the century by Diego Maradona, considered to be the 2nd best footballer of all times by many. Maradona scored this goal against England, dodging past 4 english outfielders and finally the goalkeeper. A spectacular goal indeed.

One player who I am crazy about is Ronaldinho of Brazil. Although, currently he may not be as strong and popular as Messi or Ronaldo, Ronaldinho is just incomparable.
