let's just say you caught a glimpse of the Someone who did a very bad thing
pick any scenario you want but your going to point the finger at Satan....or the Devil.....what does the Evil One look like to you?
I lean to the notion ...Jesus knew what Judas was up toVilifying Judas is irrational.
Jesus Himself picked him to be the linchpin in the Salvation story. Jesus told him to go do it. If Judas had failed in that mission Jesus would have had to draft someone else, or there would be no Salvation.
The treatment of Judas in the story is good evidence that it was made up by humans with some human agenda.

I wouldn't be pointing any fingers at Satan. He, for lack of a better word is impotent. He isn't responsible for anything that we do. All He can do is cheer you on.let's just say you caught a glimpse of the Someone who did a very bad thing

Bingo.I wouldn't be pointing any fingers at Satan. He, for lack of a better word is impotent. He isn't responsible for anything that we do. All He can do is cheer you on.
Wrong. God is not responsible for what you do either.Bingo.
God, on the other hand, doesn't have that out.
If He exists in some way and is anything like described in the Bible.

different topic....If I see someone doing a bad thing, then I will call the police. People that do crimes don't look the same. The blank-and-white striped pajamas are cliche.
and I believe the garden event was a reboot of the fleshNo.
I blame Our Creator.
Whether God or evolution made us as we are, we're kinda stoopid and have the instinctive behavior of an ape. Sometimes, to a degree, we learn better. But mostly not all that well. Morality is when we do learn better, immorality is when we don't.
Morality is from humans, immorality is from God.

so no spiritual influence?Evil doesn't exist outside of the human mind. You see a thing, or an action, you deem it as evil. The entire process is inside your mind.
The universe doesn't care. Things either are, or are not. Beyond that it's a matter of taste.
and when you see him.....and I believe we all get to see him....I wouldn't be pointing any fingers at Satan. He, for lack of a better word is impotent. He isn't responsible for anything that we do. All He can do is cheer you on.
so...appearance doesn't count in this life....Professionally, I once had to deal with a dude who raped and murdered his own children. Then became a stepfather to a couple of small children, one of whom he abused. He's now serving 55 years in jail.
What did he look like?
A loser, wannabe rapper. His greatest gig was at his local church.
He was significantly shorter and smaller than me. Looked virtually harmless. I guess the kids he ****ed with probably saw it differently.
and I say....the written word ....serpent ....In my belief "Satan ...or the Devil" has no ontological reality... that is it has no existence.
The reality underlying this question is that the evil spirit, Satan or whatever is interpreted as evil, refers to the lower nature in man.
~ Abdu'l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 77
We know absence of light is darkness, but no one would assert darkness was not a fact. It exists even though it is only the absence of something else. So evil exists too, and we cannot close our eyes to it, even though it is a negative existence. We must seek to supplant it by good,
(Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 512)
So man is responsible for his actions and cannot blame a "Satan" or that someone bit an apple in the Garden.
I guess that depends how you might define spiritual. I am as moved by epic scenery or the vastness of the night sky as anyone, but I don't attribute those feelings to anything external.so no spiritual influence?
and the existence of such things.....formed in mind only?I guess that depends how you might define spiritual. I am as moved by epic scenery or the vastness of the night sky as anyone, but I don't attribute those feelings to anything external.
Why? Why would you believe that?and I believe the garden event was a reboot of the flesh
An attempt by Who?an attempt to increase the likelihood of a better spirit
You can if you want to. But I don't see any reason to do so. I see religious beliefs as something humans do for reasons having nothing to do with Truth or Reality. It's all about the human agenda. Power, Greed, Sex.but let's blame the devil
so...you don't have a clue what the devil might look like? Why? Why would you believe that?
I read about Frodo the hobbit bringing his support (Sam) and his nemesis (Gollum) to the Crack of Doom. Great story. The only differences I see between Genesis and Lord of the Rings is that the stories are written by different people and Lord of the Rings is more sophisticated ethics.
An attempt by Who?
The human Family is not that different from our ancient ape forebears, unfortunately. Almighty God could do better, if there was one. The fact that He hasn't is solid evidence that there is no Almighty God.
You can if you want to. But I don't see any reason to do so. I see religious beliefs as something humans do for reasons having nothing to do with Truth or Reality. It's all about the human agenda. Power, Greed, Sex.

Not only that.so...you don't have a clue what the devil might look like?
and the existence of such things.....formed in mind only?
but that's another topic
let's just say.....the 'one' who bears the greatest intent of harm can be seen
by eye or by rational
did you get a good look?
