@ElytBlank , you say you “grew up Christian”. I also notice you have your age listed as 14. Is that a mistake? If not, well I recommended giving yourself some time to grow up! Your brain is still growing…

I won’t try to convince you of anything or direct you in any way now that I see you have your age listed as 14. All I can say is things will look different when you are an adult than when you are a teenager. You may have a wholly new perspective.
Yeah, but if I did tomorrow and rot in the hell of some unheard of God because I wanted to wait id be pissed

I’m atheist because I’m not going to assume that the source for the things I/we don’t understand yet, is “god” when I have no evidence for that.
That and for arguments sake, let’s say god does exist (as in a being that created planet earth and everything that exists here) where did that god come from? and what is that god even like? What does it want from us?
We project human emotions and experiences onto “god.” God could be similar to a psychopath and decided to create life out of boredom and a need for entertainment. We simply do not know, so why would I allow it to control my life?
Well,one doubt isn't evidence
Two,I don't care if God created me to torment me I just want to know why I'm here
Three, because your life doesn't have any purpose besides entertainment to the god and refusing to submit is worthless as you will die anyway and be forgotten

As you grew up Christian, your fear of hell is understandable in my opinion. Perhaps the fear is unnecessary. Perhaps that is something you have to figure out for yourself through contemplation, study, and practice.

Question everything I suggest!

I came to this forum a Christian, but the influx of information and discussion on religious matters helped me discard my Christianity. Be careful hanging around here; you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of perspectives and opinions that differ from your own. You might learn a thing or two!

I never said doubt was evidence - I said I’m not going to assume that the answer is “god” for the things that we don’t yet understand because that’s an assumption not a fact or well reasoned conclusion.

How can you submit to or resist a god you know nothing about?

Id love to be right, but I'd rather learn the truth than be led to a happy pick
Then science would be the best known way to find out. Science has explained and/or predicted most natural phenomena. No other method comes even close to scientific inquiry.
And all the time science has found natural explanations, and has thereby shown that there is no theistic intervention, wherever they look. You won't have to give up the belief in a god to do science, just the belief that any gods have anything to do with the natural world.

Kind of seems stupid not to try to lead me to your beliefs while I'm young and open minded does it not,you intervening could be the difference between understanding the universe and being molested by a priest in a suicide cult for all you know
Why follow any person's beliefs? Read, study, learn and grow. Don't rely on convincing or testimony from others. Those that push their beliefs the most fervently, are also the most unsure of their own place in things imo.

The fun is in looking for the answers. Not finding them. The journey, not the destination.

What do believe it was "at one point" that caused the Holy Spirit to enter into you, and what was it that verified the real presence of the Holy Spirit in your life to your satisfaction ?

If 100 people go I to a room and all claim to have seen a dead cat should I investigate the walls of the building to determine what's inside,no I must use information gained from witnesses

Those that have the Holy Spirit have Innate knowledge and do not need to look for it, it is given to them by God. The "Annointed" one's.

Any inspiration we get from the Holy Spirit is nit as an Annointed One, but as a servant to humanity in service of them.
