Who da thunk, eh? The best Mexican food in Mexico? Maybe there's a pattern.

Best New York bagel I ever had was in Montreal.

At the risk of sounding sophisticated & worldly (I'm not) the best Mexican food I ever
had was in Mexico. It was stunningly better than anything I had in Americastan.
But I suspect that it had to do with being at the Four Seasons at Puerto Vallarta
& surrounding eateries.
Well, yeah. Obviously. :p I don't live in Mexico, though. I live in California.

FWIW, I had the best fudge ever in Michigan. :D

Unfortunately, the time I was in Mexico I didn't have a chance to sample the food. I was much to busy sampling the alcohol to bother with the food. ;)

All food is food. Vegetarianism is sort of my favourite cuisine now. I believe in the principles behind cuisines before recipes.

I don't understand why people despise meat. Pork sausages with 75 % of lard and chili peppers, are what makes life worth-living

OK, let's say that for the rest of your life you could only eat foods from one main cuisine, so which would you chose?

I can't choose just one. Mine is a tie between South Indian and East Asian (Korean, Japanese, Chinese).

A second question, which cuisine do you believe set the standard for more other cuisines worldwide?

Given that cuisine so so diverse, I don't think there is a "set" one.

Is it warm (mostly) and is it edible? Coz I'm a zombie. :p

Seriously; Southern, Mexican and Southwestern. Occasionally, Italian and then Asian.

I presume we'd violate the spirit of the OP if we included non-Americastanian
foods we've adoopted. But Tex-Mex is ours....fortunately.

But the foreigners are so happy to point out how all that "ethnic food" is really just american when they're not experiencing an apocalypse! Let them starve and pound on the bomb shelter doors while we dine on egg foo yung ravioli.

I thoroughly enjoy Thai, Italian, Greek & Mexican.

Between the four of these palatable genres, I'd be set for life, with maybe the occasional craving for cheesecake or a brownie.

It is hard to say of any other food because I haven't eaten the same food continuously except Ethiopian. My friend an Ethiopian immigrant and I visited her family for three days. For lunch and dinner every day we ate the same thing. injera is the bread served with lentils, greens, carrot and cabbage stew and ground meat spiced with berbere a chili powder. Delicious! That would be my choice. Oh and coffee! Not Dunkin Donuts.

I never took you for a foodie.
My recent weight gain would argue otherwise.

By the way, one great thing about halal observant restaurants is their avoidance of pork -- I find myself constantly asking the waitress/waiter if the pea soup is vegetarian.
