HEATHEN ALASKAN
The Bible exposes the devil as a real evil spirit creature, and the greatest enemy of God and man. Satan spoke to both Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ, both of whom are righteous and without sin. Theses encounters and many others recorded in the Bible clearly show Satan is a real person. (Job 1:6-12, Matthew 4:1-11) One of Satan's most successful ploys is to convince people he does not exist.

The Bible talking about Satan does not make him real.

And how exactly is he evil?

In Tanakh, is he not the Adversary placed to test people and bring them before YHVH?

There are people in this world who believe Jesus and lucifer are the same being.
These people are bring our world a false light of illumination.

~this light will be the worlds end.

There is no Lucifer in Tanakh.

I've actually heard the preachers on Ask The Pastor tell people that Lucifer is the heavenly name of Satan! Apparently they don't know their own subject.

Also, they associate him with the Serpent because of the lifting up of the Serpent in the desert.

Satan as in the Adversary is sometimes depicted as Yahweh's pet. He is like Yahweh's punk, and his task is to talk crap about people and stir up more crap like a typical brown-noser. I do not see anything magnificent or great about this figure.

I've heard the name Satan as applied to the spiritual opposite of God.
An Adversary.

It seems to me, someone in the list of ability and stance is going to fit that situation.

It may have been his choice.
Maybe not.

Where freewill applied led him to opposition, his persistence keeps him at distance from heaven.

So I've heard.

What is your opinion on Satan? If one reads the forums, seems like there is different opinions as to even the definition is correct, this thread is sort of to gauge the general opinions ideas.

Satan is a spirit, There is also the Holy Spirit. What I mean by spirit is think of AI programs all trying to access the CPU which is your brain trying to take control of your choices. The CPU can choose which program/spirit to allow access to a degree. For the most part the Satan spirit has free access. The HS get embedded into the system like a seed. It then has to grow and develop ways of getting the attention of the CPU in order to get access. The Satan spirit feeds on carnal desires. The HS feeds on love, compassion and sacrifice.

These two spirits are in constant conflict vying to gain control of the CPU.

So a metaphor for a metaphor? Still there is a reality to the metaphor. Satan can exist as an aspect of the self. Satan is us as Christ is us, either can become the reality of who we are.

As kids many of us had invisible friends. God is the invisible friend of adults. Thus Satan would be the invisible bully?

I could give a very long-winded response to this, but I'll keep it short.

I think it is absurd to believe there ever was a person who became "Satan". I do think it is possible that there existed a race before ours in some other dimension, but I don't think any individual of that race rose up to power and became "Satan".

If there is a "Satan", he is probably not what the Bible makes him out to be (an angel with the ability to overpower nature for his purposes). He is probably just as human as the rest of us, and has probably had his *** handed to him by his own race, his Creator, and probably numerous people from our realm (that is, if people from our world continue on to an afterlife with these other beings).

I really wish the Bible never happened and that Christianity died with the Roman empire. It's unfortunate that these ideas still survive and play on our naivety and subconscious fears.
