Does anyone know the statistic of those who have committed a heinous crime and who have watched pornography basically their whole lives? Last time I check it was definitely in the 90's%. Now I know just because they correlate doesn't make pornography the cause, but I think when we evaluate sin it is important to consider the pretenses to it. Pornography by nature degrades the human perspective of female sexuality, which is certainly not healthy look at 51% of the world population. It also releases a drug oxytocin in the brain which primary function is to make you feel connected to something. It is the same chemical that is often released after women give birth to immediately bond with her child. Once someone overdoses this chemical, over time, that person becomes numb to feeling connection and people start to look like things. Criminals tend to look at other human beings, especially woman, as objects that need to produce this chemical for them. If they don't produce, they tend to become aggressive and are more likely to commit crime.
Every time pornography is viewed the brain is tricked to believe that its host is engaging in a sexual activity and begins its release of oxytocin. Because pornography can take much longer to climax, than real sex. This chemical can be released in very abnormally high amounts easily creating an addictive platform. Some research even shows this addiction has more of a hold than cocaine or meth, some of the most addictive substances know to man.
So is pornography a sin? It is just as sinful as taking meth or cocaine or any mind-inhibiting or life-shattering drug. It can take your life away. If Satan's, who is the father of Sin, job is to take away your freedoms, pornography is his sniper rife. Its discreet, it doesn't give you a crazy hang over, it takes some time to fall into, but once your there, it couldn't be harder to get out.
