  • I don't know how good this advice is, but I know that not everyone flowers early in life. If so, it might be unreasonable to expect oneself to have a clear sense of direction from the start. In fact, I once read a novel in which the hero was represented as a genius who had figured out life by the age of six. The author evidently thought that was a virtue of his. But to my thinking, that merely meant that he went through life with a six year old's understanding, having learned nothing about life since that age.

I emailed Songbird with your greetings. Unfortunately, she doesn't check her private email but once every two weeks or so. I have no idea when the message will reach her. But I will let you know what she says if and when she responds. I miss her too.

What do you think of Machiavelli? I just finished watching a short documentary about him.
I agree. The notion of doing one thing all your life is discouraging. There is so much in this world. On the other hand, specializing in just one thing often seems to be a way to get ahead. So I guess there are arguments on both sides of that.

I think you've seen every painting that I've brought to completion. That's only been four so far. I tend to throw away more paintings than I complete. I get frustrated with the direction they are headed and I toss them in the dumpster. If I complete the current painting of my nephew, I will be certain to send you a photo of it. It pleases me greatly that you're interested.
I'm doing fine, although I've been feeling very demotivated. Consequently, all my projects have been lagging recently. But this sort of thing comes and goes. It will pass sooner or later.

I've done a little work -- not much -- on a painting of my youngest nephew, Nathan. Nathan also seems to be my most thoughtful nephew. He's a nice kid. :)

How have you been? What all has been happening?
Hey B, how are you? What's new? I haven't seen you on the forums much even though it looks like you still log in every day.
Hey, I think I tried to list you on all 10 spots but they wouldn't let me -- or something like that -- I can't say for sure. I'll see what I can do.
Well, actually Iti Oji fruballed me for the same post. I guess I didn't make it that clear, did I? What should I do now, Boss Man?
I just followed the link to the forum rules to see the updates. I'm not sure if I'm missing something. What rules are new, or have been modified ?

I'm glad it came across so clearly. Imagine if you had taken it in a positive sense... what would you have done with that incredible boost to your self-esteem? I shudder to think of it!

    You're welcome. :)
