  • I very much agree that such experiences should not be missed. They can be life-renewing. In fact, I don't know of many things that can be so life-renewing as nature.
I very much bet what the forest does for me at times is indeed very similar to what riding a horse in the desert at night has done for you. I guess that was beautiful. I can imagine the stars you must have seen!
For me, nature can be a primal experience. I think I sometimes experience in nature what many people experience in church or mosque -- or when they are at prayer. Being in the wilderness can change how I view myself, this world, and life. And there is a sense in which for me, at least, the wilderness is more real than anything else I know.
Cairo must be exciting! I understand it to be one of the world's truly international cities, like Tokyo, New York, or London. In contrast, the city in Colorado I live in -- Colorado Springs -- is kind of backwards. The arts, music, and culture in general are not well supported here. But the town does have the advantage of being near wilderness. I am an 18 minute drive from beautiful wild forests and mountains.
I'm trying to be objective when I say that. But whatever the case, you certainly are one refreshingly reasonable person. I owe you thanks. You make this board better.

Where in Egypt are you from? I live in Colorado, near the mountains.
Well spirituality is something people sometimes need, especially in this day and age.

And college is indeed very stressful :p
I can imagine that fasting for so long can be quite hard on the body. In Judaism, we have only 1 or 2 days were we fast, and boy is that annoying to me :D But, you are doing it for a good cause so I'm happy for you and hope you the best :)

As for me, I have recently had an interesting revelation :) Other than that, I'm doing fine. I've just been a bit stress b/c I have to begin the process for applying to college.
    Again, thank you.

I'm just saying what I believe, no doubt many will disagree with me.
It covers the political situation of the authoritarian NDP and the economic realities of the lives of Egyptians, such as a lack of sewage in poor areas.

You should be able to assess it via on the Economist Online. The link I gave you is a search. Numbers 1 through 10 (the ones marked "Special Report") are the ones I am talking about. I get the print subscription, but I am pretty sure those are all the stories. Some content might be locked, but I think you can access all of the special report.
Thank you, Badran. i know i already said it before but i am really glad we have you here :)
