  • And I'm impressed with your patience. :D

Sorry I'm a bit late today, too - I woke up late and had to rush off, so I couldn't get to my video links until lunchtime. :(

... but here's today's song! I'm still on a chemistry kick, apparently: Tom Lehrer CHEMISTRY element song - YouTube

    :D
I'm terribly sorry! I got running around this morning and neglected to post your weird song this morning before I took off for my doings today. Here it is now:

B-17 Flight on the Liberty Belle - YouTube

A bit of explanation: the song itself isn't that weird (well, some of the lyrics are a bit strange looking back on them now, but on the whole..), but this recording has some weird history: it was part of a series of recordings done by Glenn Miller's Army Air Corps band as propaganda tools. The idea was that they would broadcast them at the German troops to convince them that the Allied soldiers were all having a wonderful time while the Germans were miserable. This song makes fun of Hitler a bit. :)
I got it at the dollar store. It's for the tournament today - they suggest that the referees get something to make ourselves look a bit silly so that the kids are less likely to feel intimidated to talk to us. :)
BTW - I'm going to have to get up before the crack of bloody-hell-what-godforsaken-hour-is-this tomorrow, so here's your Saturday song early:

To make up for today's song, this one's nice and mellow... but still with a weird bent to it:

Carolina Eyck - Theremin plays Sting - YouTube

Also, you might be interested to know that this is the only video of a theremin marching band I could find: Theramin Marching Band - YouTube

    :D
A weird song to go with your morning coffee?:)

I think any song that involves chemistry automatically counts as weird:

    blimp - Weebl's Stuff

Two things you need to know about this song:
    - it's pretty loud (or at least it is on my computer).
    - the ending's really good, so make sure you watch all the way to the end.

    :D
Speaking of weird in a quirky and endearing way, here's a bonus: House Hippo - YouTube

    (It's not a song, so it's just a bonus :) )
    I'm sorry. :(

I was all excited: since it seemed like you were tiring of the whole dubstep thing, I was thinking that we could switch up the theme every third of the month and make the middle of January all about weird songs, but it looks like the well is dry. I couldn't find anything properly weird.

So... I guess you'll have to settle for this, and I hope I can find you something actually weird tomorrow:

Look At My Potato - YouTube

    :(

On the plus side, at precisely 3:00 pm today, you'll be 3/8ths through your January. :)
I don't think my last link was sufficiently weird, so here's another: Chicken Monkey Duck - YouTube

And Phil, that might be the first time I've heard the words "engineer" and "cool" together. :D
"the other half is artichokes. Sounds like a weird combination, but somehow it works for him"
"And by "the white man" you mean What'sismire :D

Don't worry, Birdy, I'm always one step ahead of him"
    Hmm... how about this?

Leaving On A Jet Plane - Me First And The Gimme Gimmes - YouTube

I'll have to have more coffee in me to find the really weird stuff... and maybe enlist some help. :D
