    So - I said it was a guess. A guess is not a fact to attempt to build an argument !! How do you deduce this. The person who is beig tested is not aware of the fact that he is being tested. This is too obvious to warrant a reply !

    Sometimes I am sure Abraham knew it was just a test because he believed that his God was a God of life. (Just guessing!) Not me in the first place. This was more a general statement based on what others said long before I followed their example..

    Yeah based on a minuscule human point of view. Plants are sentient but do not have a conventional human type brain. (Do an Internet search "Sentient plants") A bit of out of the box thinking not based on how humans are is required; but then again if it is not materialistic, perceived as solid...

    Tricky wot? Abraham was told to do so as a test, but God gave him a goat to sacrifice in place of his son. But changing your deity to God is a bit unfair. I am of the opinion that it is the scribes/prophets who inserted their own vengeful feelings into the writings.

    Yes. But why ? Methinks it is the conversion by the sword and over-zealous scribes who wrote this into the Koran. In fact, the quran refers to Prophet Muhammad as “Rehmatul-lil-Alameen” or “the one bringing compassion for all worlds.”
