    The Folly of Atheism

No one indulges in Magical Non-think more than Atheists. Their belief in a magical, self-created universe is the best thing in that line. Everyone knows that God exists - it's just that some people pretend otherwise.

    The Folly of Atheism

God isn't a fantastical idea; but a simple and logical one. Magical pixies are fantastical and silly. Whether God is silly - well, you'll be able to discuss that when you meet Him. I'm a Catholic DESPITE a Catholic upbringing, not because of it. As your parents and community brought you up...

    The Folly of Atheism

But as it isn't a parlour game - and as no such beings exist (except in SF) - God does exist after all.

    The Folly of Atheism

Muslim misunderstandings about Christianity, yet again. BTW are you a Muslim ? If you keep attacking Christianity, you soon will be, like it or not.

    The Folly of Atheism

God is the Uncreated - the first cause, the starting point of everything. There necessarily IS one ! If not God, then who or what ? But - with WMD's and climate change - we're so much wiser and CLEVERER than those benighted religious people of the past !

    The Folly of Atheism

Failed ? It works remarkably well.

    The Folly of Atheism

In a godless universe, there would be no concept either of gods or of God.
  13. C

    The Folly of Atheism

No - "Atheist" means A-theist, meaning No God.
  14. C

    The Folly of Atheism

A mistaken idea of the God of Abraham.
  15. C

    The Folly of Atheism

Surely even an atheist can see the difference between the ideas - the concepts - of (1) God and (2) of pixies (magical or not, flatulent or not) ?
  16. C

    The Folly of Atheism

The more Atheists have found themselves on the losing side (since the late-1970's) the shiftier and more evasive they have become.

    The Folly of Atheism

    The other possibilities ?

    The Folly of Atheism

To be an atheist in one's head (mind) isn't damnable - because an atheist of that sort may hold and serve an ideal of Goodness that is, in fact, God. But someone who is an atheist in his or her heart, is evil, and thus has problems.
  19. C

    The Folly of Atheism

Muslims and Christians are in agreement on this - that the One True God is the God first worshipped clearly by Abraham.
  20. C

    The Folly of Atheism

Mythology ? No - ancient oral tradition and ancient texts. What makes you think they are false ? You are ready to believe in the annals written by classical historians - what makes you believe that the ancient Christian texts and oral traditions are any less reliable ? Unless, of course, you...
