    The Folly of Atheism

So who or what created the cells and atoms ? Nature and its scientific laws ? But who or what created them ?

    The Folly of Atheism

Because it is more honest and reliable than academic history, that of the Romans especially.

    The Folly of Atheism

My only assumption is that the universe is real, not an illusion.

    The Folly of Atheism

Apart from Chance, God is the only possible explanation. "Invent God" ? How ? We - and our minds - are God's invention.

    The Folly of Atheism

There's almost no evidence that Julius Caesar wasn't just a legend - the only direct evidence is a few scraps of parchment. Most of the ancient writings about Julius Caesar are by hagiographical sycophants, power-worshippers and other Roman propagandists. You are eager to believe in the claims...

    The Folly of Atheism

As an ideal - that is, as founded by Jesus Christ - the RCC is perfect. But it has to exist at ground level, thus be run by human beings, though, some of whom have dragged it through the mud. Which is their fault and that of human nature - not the fault of the RCC, still less Jesus Christ.

So also can abortion ruin a woman's life. I believe in free education and healthcare and support for stay-at-home mothers. Here in the UK, religion is less politicised and polarised than in the USA.

    The Folly of Atheism

No one has ever been comforted by "evidence" Lack of belief in God is, in fact, agnosticism - so why not call it that, rather than "atheism" ?

    The Folly of Atheism

As God - when on earth in the person of Jesus Christ - founded the Catholic Church, that's toot. And why hate Catholics ? It's bigots - unbelievers, mainly - who hate.

    The Folly of Atheism

    Why ? It's ALIVE isn't it ?

    The Folly of Atheism

No - it isn't circular, but linear. Except in the opinion of those who want everything to be futile and go round in circles, like their own minds.
  14. C

    The Folly of Atheism

Egocentric. No - it's focused on Truth. And is a more honourable - and honest ! - pursuit than choosing not to seek Truth or pretending that it can't be found.

    The Folly of Atheism

"A mild inconvenience" ?? Atrocious and near-fatal mental anguish in Gethsemane, being beaten up and ridiculed by Roman soldiers, flogged half-to-pieces by a Roman flogging, carrying a cross through the scornful stares of a city population, nailed to a cross, then left to die in agony (after...

    The Folly of Atheism

A Real God is a god that can create a universe, then hold it in being. This distinguishes God from His creations (e.g. a neighbour, the weather) or our sub-creations (e.g a keyboard). And shows God to be - not a mere concept - but the Living God, as real as, and infinitely more effective and...

    The Folly of Atheism

Quantum fluctuations - random or other - are features of the universe. Ergo, they didn't exist before the universe did. Ergo, they didn't create the universe.
  18. C

    The Folly of Atheism

The odds are irrelevant - as we DO exist. Yes - my soul (like all human souls) was created personally by God, to fill and direct the body-mind created by one's parents' act of sexual intercourse.

    The Folly of Atheism

Jesus died, then rose from the dead on the third day, then (after 40 days) ascended into Heaven.

    The Folly of Atheism

The remark was made solely to Moses, a great and holy prophet.
