Meditation Tips for People Who Don’t (Yet) Like to Meditate

I personally do some tantric meditation but I've also always had experimentation and experience with meditation that involves playing off of lucid dreams and fuzzy states between awake and asleep, and music as well. I find there is some bleed over with hypnosis techniques as well. Anyways, I...

    Do you masturbate?

When I was a teenager a few times I experimented with abstaining to see what effects it would have on me. Longest I managed was 4 or 5 weeks. A week is fairly easy imo unless your hormones are fluctuating and then all bets are off. Maybe, until you remember how much it hurts to get burned...

    Do you masturbate?

Within the next year? Pft you mean before the next meal. Being chaste is just about not having sex. I don't see why, at least for some forms, masturbation would be out of the question. Though I do know that it's said ascetic yogis won't as a way to preserve power. I suspect they use that...

@Smart_Guy is alive and well (I have a point of contact with him), he just left the forums for his own reasons. Don't know about the others, maybe a screenname change?

Atheists and Theists: how do you pick and choose what to believe?

I honestly don't think people choose what to believe, if they really believe what they say they do. Sometimes people can just pretend until it sticks enough but if they are honest they can't choose; it becomes a consequence of starting assumptions and evidence.

Does God Hide From Us -- Or Do We Hide God From Us?

This is a good question! I actually feel that neither is hiding. We are limited beings that are trapped in ignorance. Many in Hinduism call this maya but as a follower of Trika I don't hold that our world is illusion, just that our perception of it is. I feel the reason is that dualism is...

Thanks. The setup now is temporary. Just hadn't been able to dish out a year of proper hosting and super busy with IRL stuff. Was gonna have it hosted properly and the music set up professionally and release my EP when I could also replace my studio headphones as well (broke'd and I hadn't...

Can God Do What Is Logically Impossible?

We don't need to prove or disprove something to explore the consequences of assigning attributes to it. To give an example you might be friendly towards, it would be like saying any discussion of M-Theory is utterly meaningless because it's not proven, and there are a lot of theoretical...

Can God Do What Is Logically Impossible?

EDIT: I need to think more about this, I'm not sure, after much internal debate, that I can hold the views I previously did. Obviously by definition they can't rationally explain it other than to say "god is beyond our intellectual understanding" if they go that route. So I'm failing to see...

Sorry C. Manning You Are Not Welcome Here

She isn't a traitor, she was a whistle blower. We used to have laws to protect people like her. But the growing fascist tendencies in our country justified the imprisonment.

    Feminism and Online Atheism

I'm not denying there is diversity, I'm just stating that I've never seen a feminist MRA specifically. They got diversity in the other direction for sure, however.

    Libertarian Feminism

Uh... many Christians think they deserve rights that other religions don't, and openly so. Many people too already are literal fascists even in western countries (enough to organize huge rallies). And of course there are countless supporters of inequal regimes. It's only in "mainstream" society...

    Feminism and Online Atheism

In my huge 1k word post earlier I distinguished the various groups I'm aware of. They may or may not overlap. However I've not really seen MRAs overlap with Feminism so much because MRA's have bleed over with the other not-feminist 'factions'.

    Libertarian Feminism

    A surprisingly large number, actually.

Are we fundamentally good or evil?

I choose "none of the above" and if I felt like it I could probably dig up some scripture to back that up. I was about to say "how very Buddhist of you" then you posted a Buddha... While that's a valid way to convince some, I'd rather just say that what's good to one is bad to another is...

    What is truth?

I'm mostly a reductionist so truth is mostly redundant. For example, "It's true that this chair is red." is the same as "This char is red." Truth, essentially, is a truism. Truth is that which is true. Truth is is that which is correct (which is nothing more than "true"). Nothing more, nothing...

    Satanic musicians

Crap, I forgot about Watain (but I don't really listen to them). Didn't they write some book even on it? As far as the earlier statement about Black Metal faking it... I'd say that it's more so that for many Satanism was just a vessel for them as many moved onto Scandinavian neo-paganism after...

    Feminism and Online Atheism

I've watched most of the anti-feminists youtube channels at some point before. It's a scale. Youtubers like Sargon of Akkad are the worst when it comes to these kinds of people. On one end there is some legitimate criticism if some of the fringe elements of feminism and on the other it's a...
