America's New Moral Code is Leaving Christianity Behind

"We live in times wherein many are grown atheists. They have run through all opinions, and now of professors they are turned epicures; they have drunk in so much of the poison of error that they are quite intoxicated and fallen asleep, and begin to dream there is no such state of blessedness...

America's New Moral Code is Leaving Christianity Behind

The most enjoyment of life? That seems self indulgent. Probably a primitive response to secularism, an a-social YOLO . The wisdom of the ages seems to indicate that unbridled self indulgence is folly. Its like "defection" in game theory. Take the winnings and run from responsibility.. This...

I see Adam and Eve true religiously, but am not sure s to is literalness, and science of evolution a corroborated theory, rather than certified fact.

    Jesus without baggage

OP. IIRC I read a Hasidic rabbi once, a female. She didn't see the bible as history, rather all the events were being played out in ones life, the exodus, the fall etc. It was like an existential dramatization of the human condition, interpreted personally.

Life Is Inevitable Consequence Of Physics, According To New Research

The model uses "The laws of physics TM" or just a set? Obviously if we choose the ones for this universe, and model it well enough, given that the Drake equation seems to indicate life is out there somewhere, and there are so many exoplanets etc... Well get a universe with life in it. Just...

    Please stop disrespecting other believers

Did religious beliefs trigger the Neolithic Revolution and the birth of civilization?

True enough, but what caused the insight "sowing causes harvest". If the seeds were spilt, there is no insight. There would have been no reason to sow, it would have just stayed in accident mode. Theres a recent study showing apes have a similar to religious idea. Scientists may have found...

Did religious beliefs trigger the Neolithic Revolution and the birth of civilization?

I read this book, OP a bit long and vague at present Inside the Neolithic Mind - Wikipedia I personally think agriculture maybe originated from scattered grain offerings. Book argues it was an accident stemming from seeds spilt at mass gatherings around sacred sites. IMO fixed locaiton sacred...

    Quantuum mechanics and dieties

Some say, "physics is weird, and that's fact, therefore God exists". Seems to be a non sequitur.

    Space, Time and God

The OP is asking about creation and atheism. Creation is not implied by BB theory, in any way, unless you insert some natural theology like kalam, or the lawmaker analogy. Then if we do insert if so we have A) not actual science but a mixture and B) the same old arguments with untestable...

Can Christianity move beyond its inherent homophobia?

Why ought ethics be universal? That's a philosophical perspective. OTOH, Christians can have Christian ethics, Buddhists Buddhist ethics etc.

    Space, Time and God

Space time had a beginning. Assumed as fact. Yet, I didn't see the term "God" implied anywhere.

    Quantuum mechanics and dieties

If QM shows God exists, does classical physics refute the claim?

    God Is Insane

Didn't Dawkins describe Him as psychopathic? Projection, a little bit maybe??? “The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a...
