    Why the double standard?

That's hairsplitting imo, and doesn't alter the fact that American taxpayers are supplying weapons to both warzones. To put it another way, America is pouring petrol on both fires. Team America are playing World Police again, and it's hard to think of an occasion when that's ever ended well.

    Why the double standard?

I’m not sure anti Semitism explains the narrative, but Ukraine good Israel bad is certainly the story we are all being sold. Nobody ever really wins in war, and there are no good guys except the innocent who always suffer most. It’s a decent into savagery that should be avoided at all costs imo.

    Why the double standard?

That’s not true though is it? The US taxpayer is providing arms to both war zones

Russian State TV Airs Melania Nudes

Until the Kremlin releases photos of Trump being urinated on by a 16 stone model, I’m not really interested tbh. But if that happens…

    Jazz

I’m a big fan of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Jazz Suites. But I’ve no idea why he called them that - the best known is actually a waltz

Self-criticism in the American Left base

Well this plainly isn’t true. For an historical example, see the emergence of the Labour Party in the United Kingdom, a grass roots working class movement which replaced the Liberals as the main opposition to Conservatism.

    America isn't Christian

People with nothing original to say don’t tend to leave a mark on history which continues to resonate 2,000 years after their passing

Hopefully the unhealthiest thing they’ll find in the waters today will be me

    Something Good

I’m off to the historic Spa town of Bath, to take the waters, do a bit of pre Christmas shopping, see the sites, escape London for the weekend. Spa this afternoon, Roman baths and Medieval Abbey tomorrow, Michelin starred restaurant tomorrow night. One thing puzzles me though. We’re staying two...

Can depression be cured or only managed ?

And yet there is no biological test that can diagnose depression, or almost any other mental illness. There is and always has been a school of thought among mental health professionals, that a significant factor in mental illness is always childhood trauma of some kind.

Republicans win presidency, senate and house

Lost to the English language over a century ago, but that's another story. You have produced several great writers though. And musicians, and artists. But then, so did pre-Weimar Germany

Republicans win presidency, senate and house

It says to me, that America is lost to reason.

    Teleological Argument (Aquinas)

Well yes, a mind is required, in order for something to be known to exist. Why then, do we assume that physical objects or processes, such as stars and galaxies, are more fundamental than the consciousness required to perceive their existence?

Gabbard nominated as Director of National Intelligence

So John Bolton has said “Up until a few hours ago, I would have said that Tulsi Gabbard was the worst Cabinet appointment in recent American history. Since Matt Gaetz’s appointment, he clearly has taken the lead on that score.” I know this should be no laughing matter, but from this side of the...

Strange, Humorous, & Arcane Terms You've Heard

US born comic Rich Hall once described the U.K. as a nation of “pusillanimous pisswits”, which made me chuckle then and now.

Our New Attorney General: Matt Gaetz

He's nominating lightweights and weirdos with zero government experience, to senior government roles. This is unlikely to end well, but at least he's kicking *** (with all the skill and effectiveness of a one legged man at an arse kicking contest).

I was wrong - and that makes me angry.

Death is the opening of a door. To what, no one knows. It’s unlikely to lead anywhere more confusing than the place we are leaving though, imo. Planet earth is staggeringly beautiful, but I’m not sure I’ll miss it much.

Are We Responsible for Our Inactions?

The issue I have with the trolley problem is, it assumes definite, predictable outcomes. In real life situations, those are rare.

Why do some religious people preach there beliefs to non believers ?

Is that a universal human trait, do you think?
