Self-criticism in the American Left base

The lefties (the "leftists" - the liberals) - don't own any mirror.
They have turned politics into a religion... a game really.

Some of them who actually don't adhere to any known religion - need a day for self reflection.
They need a day to meet each other somewhere (like their own little church) and concentrate on the positives instead of the negatives.

To keep politics off their minds - they could ride around a donkey or a pony in the backyard of their church. Maybe they could visit the zoo together or something to that effect.:D

Since "Hump day" - Wednesday the 6th of November 2024 - they came to realize how wrong they were - I am suggesting 'Wednesday' as the day of the week - they should meet up.
Yes! They should adopt Wednesday as a 'self reflection' day.
They are genuine, I believe.
The party they voted for has forsaken them.

Here is the main issue: the other main party (Republican) is a far-right party. Meaning it is even more filled with: "speculators, banksters, people who worship the Military Industrial Complex...Big Pharma."
The golden rule of politics: He who has the gold, makes the rules.

And nowhere is that more true than in the US. The big corporations and ultrarich don't care who wins, they are all on their payroll.

How would the Democratic party benefit from becoming more leftist? It would appeal more to leftists and less to moderates.
The question is where the voters are.
You have about 25% stable GOP voters, 25% stable Dem voters, 10% swing voters and 40% non-voters.
Nobody knows exactly how many of the latter could be motivated by a true centre-left DNC. All we know is that pandering to the swing voters didn't work out for the DNC this time. If they instead concentrate on the non-voters, they need only a third of them and can stand to lose all the swing voters.
Internationally and historically, there seem to be people who are left of the US Overton window, but they are also rather disillusioned.

No. I am saying leftists have no alternative as of now other than voting for the Democratic party.

Well this plainly isn’t true. For an historical example, see the emergence of the Labour Party in the United Kingdom, a grass roots working class movement which replaced the Liberals as the main opposition to Conservatism.

I mean...
I guess there are so may leftists in the United States.
People who believe in social equality, in economic fairness, in a juster and more egalitarian system.

Do you really think that the Democratic Party is a leftist party?
I mean ...it's filled with speculators, banksters, people who worship the Military Industrial Complex...Big Pharma.

Do you ever engage in self-criticism?
Something like: maybe if we got rid of all these wealthy opportunists...we would recover credibility?

;)

Thank you.
Its not that the American Left think that Dems are leftist in ideals. Its that the Republicans are more right leaning than the Dems.

The Right are also involved With speculators, banksters, people who worship the military industrial complex and Big Pharma, except the voter base who prefer priests to "lay hands on them" rather than get medical treatment.

What policies do the Republicans want to put in place to enforce it?
Healthcare in the United States is a strange matrimony between financial power and public law.

There's no difference between public and private...they are like stuck.
Like a rusted screw and bolt.

Politics is more real than religion. It actually drals with policies that impact our lives on a daily basis. Religion doesn't have nearly as much real world value.

It would be best if people focused as much on politics as they do on their religions. Study the constitution and policy documents even better than they do the bible ( because biblical literacy amongst christians is apalling). Then maybe their lot in life would be better and more enriching.

The Democrats are a far left radical party now. They are no where near center aside from a few blue dog Democrats.
They cant be considered far left if their economic policies are as capitalist as they are. They can't be said to support banking elites, big pharma and the military industrial complex, if they are leftist. Thats a contradiction. Suppression of free speech neither left nor right, but authoritarian which is different. And as far as I know they arent interested in nationalising institutions.

So none of their policies show any hint of socialism?

It's something I don't understand.
Here the state controls anything. Healthcare too.
Its because America is super capitalist. Healthcare then becomes a profit making industry. And staunch capitalists don't like government taking their tax money and spending it on state controlled institutions, like healthcare, because they want people to fend for themselves so that they get to keep more of their money. To them greed trumps altruism. They are apathetic to peoples suffering, that is why they value property and money more than people's lives.
