The Trinity doctrine didn’t even come into existence until the Fourth Century CE.
Christendom has had hundreds of years finding ways to twist the words of, or at least the meaning behind, those Scriptures to suit their bias.
Yes, it can. I’m glad you recognize that. (Most trinitarians don’t.)
Applying Jesus’ words, “the Father and I are one,” with the context of John 17:22,23, we see how Jesus meant that.
I’m glad to know that. It’s always beneficial to be at peace with others.
Take care, my cousin.
Yes they can, but the key is, does it agree with the context? By context, I mean the whole Bible.
Because the truth as the Bible reveals, is completely harmonious. it’s in the interpretations of it where you’ll find discord and contradiction.
When the Bible is understood correctly, as in God...
“Mighty” is not anything close to “Almighty”!
(I’m mighty.)
And since everlasting life comes through exercising faith in Jesus’ sacrifice, and He said He will resurrect (restore life) in the Last Day (John 6:40), He is a father… for those gaining everlasting life. He is a father in that sense...
Why are you taking that out of context? (You accused me earlier for doing that.)
You’ve been shown John 17:21.
Now please read John 17:22..regarding His disciples, Jesus prayed:
“I have given them the glory that you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are one.”
Further...
“None of you will obey God,
and you certainly will not obey Jesus.”
So you will know what I will do in the future?
Who are you to judge me or anyone?! See to yourself, not others. - 1 Thessalonians 4:11
Because Jehovah God cares. Exodus 20:2-6
It is simple.
As long as you are bringing unity / oneness into this topic…who else did Jesus say shares that unity? His disciples. (John 17:22,23) So they are good too, now? Since they’re all “one”.
Ok, we’re going ‘round & ‘round on this, but that’s ok… I’m sorry it takes me awhile to respond.
If “physical death will always exist”, then people would still be “mourning”, and have “outcry” & “pain”. In fact, death is the source of the most mourning. But those things are gone too!
Why did...
This is ridiculous reasoning imo.
With this concept, then, since “nobody is good, except one”, and this is Jesus, then his Father isn’t good. Just Jesus.
As @walt pointed out, Jesus & his Father (known as Yahweh) are two totally different people, whose oneness, as Jesus specifically stated, is...
I’ve debated (with myself) as to whether I should reply to you or not.
You calling us “Jehovahs” seems a little antagonistic — “Jehovah” is English for God’s name “Yahweh” (Psalm 83:18, KJV), who was Jesus’ God & Father. (That’s who Jesus worshipped. - John 20:17)
But I’m going to assume that...
