    What do we really ‘know’

Sure..... Some of us learn very quickly and others (like me) get to be fairly wise when it's all too late to make much difference. I think we can train people in so many elementary ways but there's a point where they have to find out for themselves. It's scary for parents, isn't it!

    What do we really ‘know’

Sure, a good example of many people copying other's opinions, views and ways is 'fashion' in clothing, hairstyles and accessories. And many people can be attracted to another for all kinds of reasons. Advertising is a good example as well, and to protect purchasers as much as possible there...

There are no eyewitness accounts of Jesus in the New Testament

Hello Brian, and thank you for the trouble that you took with that long post. That is a difficulty that I can see in the above sentence alone, that Jesus never did tell any such thing in plain 'direct' speech. Christianity wants to tell that this is a primary communication, the 'by grace'...

    What do we really ‘know’

Hi LoH...:) And no.......copying others is not always dangerous. It can be a life saver, just as it is with so many creatures. A single creature could save a whole herd by simply calling a warning. It can go wrong, of course, but this means you can't dismiss the copycats.

Just for the brave among us -- analyze a Trump speech.

On my mobile the video did not show any time-run. However, I loved the part where Trump says that '....many countries take all their murderers, rapists, paedophiles (etc etc) and bring them here.......... '!!! No further comment necessary.

Do you do this ^^^^^? People who question everything don't always take notice of answers.

    What do we really ‘know’

How about 'instincts'? Since science does accept that all creatures have instinctive drives and reactions, could science perceive these in humans as well? We auto react in many situations. What do we do in heat or cold....for example? In any case, I don't think we borrow information but simply...

I'm not a Christian...please can you show me where Jesus said anything about this?

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

Yes. I am interested and want to read more. I can't say anything else just now.... will just need a very long time to read up about all this. At first view all I can perceive is the entire history of the Israelite people seeming to disappear. Now that's a shocker even for a detached gentile to...

Have you been following Jayhawker's posts? I am hoping that this conversation may develop further.

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

Having read your post I searched for evidence of the first Great Temple circa 900 BC, only to find that there is none at this time. Let me get this right, do you think that the emergence of the Jewish people, religion and all developed during the Great Persian Empire? Is the early history of...

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

@Jayhawker Soule ..... Hmmm......I got that wrong, then. :( The Hyksos had previously invaded a long time before Ramasses and were thought to have been Canaanites (maybe Semitic) with god's like Baal. Which pushes any Exodus back before their time, maybe? Reports of Ramses being pharaoh...

Debate about Christianity (Looking for someone to argue against it)

I would offer my time but it could only be via posts on a thread like this. I think there is a one-on-one section here but you'd do much better to face a tough group in interchanges wouldn't you? You get more strong arguments from a larger audience, and you'd get many more very good replies from...

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

I have read about the invasion of all Egypt by Northern people (Hyksos?) as far South as Elephantine Island, and although they copied some of the religious practices of the Semitic peoples they were not Israelites. Two or three hundred years after this time the (returning?) Egyptian people...

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

This tradition was being celebrated 2000 years ago and long before, I expect that you would acknowledge that, yes? And that celebration was seeking to keep a distant memory alive back then. If people want to snub it all as myth then the only reason that I can perceive for their attitude is...

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

What a magnificent post! This reminds me of your posts from over a decade ago. Yes, of course my lack of beliefs are just personal, I'm not intending to fight bloody debates over their lack, and sadly I'm stuck with only a mobile at this time for communication. Now, to the traditions around...

Oh yes......I expect that the Hebrew population was a mere nothing compared with the claimed 600,000. Maybe the Exodus was a much smaller event and that it grew with the telling? There couldn't have been a massive Exodus.

Many many Chariot wheels found at bottom of Red sea.

This thread is closely connected to the Exodus though. But you're right that it is about claims of chariot wheels being found in the Red Sea..... Did you want to discuss that? I'm neutral about that.
