Time to play Solve the Riddle.

The answer to the seeming contradiction is found only if there is a resurrection of the dead.

Time to play Solve the Riddle.

If there is no resurrection of the dead, as the Sadducees say, then God cannot be their God. God is not a God of those who die and cease to exist. God can only be the God of those who will raise from the dead. "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and...

Time to play Solve the Riddle.

The topic of Jesus' response to the Sadducees concerned the resurrection of the dead. He was not talking about the nature of the spirit compared to flesh.

Time to play Solve the Riddle.

What was the topic of Jesus' reply to the Sadducees? "The nature of spirit compared to the flesh"? .... or something else?

Time to play Solve the Riddle.

Jesus said to the Sadducees, " God is not a God of the dead, but of the living." But Paul says that Christ is Lord both of the dead and living. Solve the riddle.

The N.T. use three words translated by the KJV as "hell". The first is 'hades' which corresponds to sheol (Hebrew) of the O.T. it means the grave. The second is 'gehenna' which refers to a garbage dump outside of Jerusalem where bodies of criminals were burned. Called "the lake of fire" The...

Why are you so interested in my views and beliefs?

Exactly my point. You don't believe it. Therefore you discredit the Bible. I have no time for mockers.

Why are you so interested in my views and beliefs?

I believe Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Do you? If you claim it's not true, then you are discrediting the Bible. It's that simple. The faith of the Christian rests on the belief that God raised Jesus from the dead. Period!

Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven?

Why are you so interested in my views and beliefs?

Certainly it's to discredit the Bible. I was born at night, but not last night.

Why are you so interested in my views and beliefs?

Some spend a lifetime looking to discredit the Bible. "There was never a flood". "Jesus didn't raise from the dead"...etc.

Why are you so interested in my views and beliefs?

There are two main criteria I go by in order to understand the doctrines of the Bible. The first is that I believe the Bible to be accurate and trustworthy. And that Scripture ought to be consistent throughout. The second is reason. That what is taught is reasonable and logically understood.

sovereignty of God + human free-will

Can you point to any Biblical text to support that idea?

sovereignty of God + human free-will

I'm curious as to where you got that idea from.

Why are you so interested in my views and beliefs?

I come from the position that the New Testament we have is accurate, truthful and trustworthy. If your position is that it's not, I'm not interested in debating it with you. if your position is that it is accurate and trustworthy, then I'd be interested to discussion with you what you understand...

Do you have a favorite gospel?

"Is wrong"? That's a little arrogant on your part, don't you think? Can you prove Einstein never said it? Do you have a recording of all that Einstein ever said? Perhaps you could have SIMPLY said, "There is some doubt that the quote is from Einstein". fair enough. I still like it.

Should a believer be afraid of asking ?

Some time ago I joined a Christian discussion forum and entered into discussion whereby someone was claiming that Jesus raised himself from the dead. This person was not claiming that Jesus, by laying down of his own life, was cause enough that the grave could not hold him, but in fact, this...

Do you have a favorite gospel?

It is a good story. And it is not without allusion or reference to other stories. Mat 9:10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. Mat 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his...
