Well, Mr. Ball - I would humbly suggest that you reread what I had previously written, part of which is here:
For your historical edification:
From the earliest days of the Constantine and the Christian Roman Empire, Christians learned about the Jews in the context of how their god, Jesus, was...
Your opening statement is incorrect as your statement regarding having never heard a priest or other church blame the Jews, indicates.
The Christian Church only formally recognized that the Romans did indeed condemn and crucify Jesus (as it does indeed say in your gospels) in the mid 20th...
For your historical edification:
From the earliest days of the Constantine and the Christian Roman Empire, Christians learned about the Jews in the context of how their god, Jesus, was killed by wicked Jews. In Christianity, Jews were always synonymous with Christ-killers – they were the Race...
I visited the practical halacha website and, I read the critique.
To paraphrase the immortal words of Inigo Montoya: You all keep on using the idea "These halachot are not intended to replace a rabbi who knows you personally or who knows the details of your specific question; rather the website...
Well done.
My response, on a daily basis, to everyone who asks: "How are you?"
Is: "Thank G-d. Life is beautiful all the time."
This engenders many, many different responses, the most common of which is "What?"
In that my response simply does not register with most people. Nobody talks this...
Peachy.
But - you might try and be a less ethnocentric and a tad more for "all humanity."
My theory, whether you like it or no, was that Abraham is the Father of all of today's religious humanity.
:D
I don't know. I would guess that this would also apply to Zoroastrians but, that timeline is a little tighter than the one I quote. Zoroaster theoretically lived shortly after Abraham and therefore the whole game of "telephone" in the exchange of names would have been a little less likely to...
Lovely.
The "Islamic State" is just one of a multitude of NON "pious people."
In order for your sentiments to have any effect, you would have to take action.
The only action that would be effective today would be for those who agree with your sentiments to "take up arms against [this] sea of...
Why a new thread?
This seemed an appropriate answer to the question.
Seriously - I would start a new thread based on this if I thought it was useful but... I don't know. If people don't want to read whatever it is, ya can't stop 'em. :)
IMHO:
I believe that Hinduism descended from Abraham, Avraham Avinu, the Patriarch of the Jews (and incidentally of the Muslims and the Christians). This is neither "my" theory, nor is it a new theory, nor is it supported by mainstream Orthodox Jews. But I like it.
It goes like this...
Does the religion of Islam have a problem?
Are Muslims inherently violent?
Is Islam inherently Evil?
Is Islam a “religion of Peace?”
Are the Islamists (Islamic radicals; Islamo Nazis; Jihaddists; violent Arabs and Muslims who kill for the sake of Allah; pick your own misnomer) in Syria and...
And, at the end of long evolution of Islam, the takfir musfidun that are today's imams and clerics who speak for Mohammad have devolved Islam into the gutter religion that glorifies brutality and the slaughter of innocents.
You might want to correct that.
Good luck.
Which is the most cogent argument as to whether or not Mohammad was a good guy and - whether or not Jesus was a good guy.
"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."
- Mathew 7:18
For all of you who want to argue the "badness" of Mohammad...
Technically speaking, I suppose I am.
I was always a fan of Chautauqua as I stayed there several times as a child when my parents would go to some of the still extant meetings/ lectures/ etc. back in the day.
I would humbly suggest that you are not very well versed in religion.
With the exception of monastic sects whose purpose is ultimate control over one's sexuality, nearly all religions are enthusiastically pro sex.
Many people confuse reality with fantasy. It's part of the human condition.
The...
