    Plants and Vegetarianism

No, I saw the humor. I just took the opportunity to relay some very important news.

    Plants and Vegetarianism

Ironic. Taking antibiotics excessively, and adding them to stock feed, has resulted in antibiotic resistant bacteria which are set to decimate the human race. Just last week we went 'over the edge' - there is now a replicating gene in bacteria which is unstoppable. It emerged in pigs in China...

    Plants and Vegetarianism

Before someone asks why that is 'moral high ground' I will add that gross mismanagement of resources shows no concern for our descendants, let alone all the other creatures of the planet. The issue is complex, but basically the way we are living is irresponsibly ruining the potential for quality...

    Plants and Vegetarianism

There is a high moral ground to vegetarianism. And I say this despite eating meat. The sheer waste involved in meat production is OTT. 10 kilos of vegetable protein to produce 1 kilo of meat protein. Tens of thousands of litres of water. It is actually madness, and unsustainable madness as the...

"Donald Trump Blasts Time For Not Naming Him Person Of The Year"

More likely the Republicans and the Democrats are unwitting agents of the plutocracy, planted in the herd to keep us in disarray.

    Any Questions?

LOL, yeah. Imponderable. Seems to me that the whole business is really upaya, as opposed to 'facts about consciousness, self and will'. Just do this and things work out. Which is totally cool. I was just curious to hear how you would answer. (:

    Any Questions?

    1. In Buddhism, there is no 'god of the gaps'. Just gaps, LOL 2. If the past is a creative act in the present, then 'past' is meaningless. If past is meaningless, so is 'present'. 3.Since there is no self choosing, there is no choice, only the act. Who can choose to be an individual ? Aggregates ?

    Any Questions?

    1. An act performed by whom ? 2. So there is neither present nor past ? 3. How do we synchronise these creative acts to arrive at consensus history, or are we all the same creative act ?

    Any Questions?

How does memory fit in the buddhist view in your opinion ? If sight is just the scene (sic) etc, what connects these empty aggregates as a continuum, and allows them to be viewed as past experience ?

    Any Questions?

You ride bikes ! Cool. So do I. I ride a Yammy R15. Small urban racer. Apparently it's good for older men to ride bikes. Maintains testosterone levels and cognitive function. And it's fun. Obviously. What do you, or did you, ride ? BTW... I'm not 36. My 'birthday' on my profile is the day I took...

    Any Questions?

Did you know that you can rub fresh garlic on your skin and they will leave you alone ? I love garlic. It's better than 10 mothers. (Old saying)

    Any Questions?

What do you love doing ? I mean, apart from web conversations, and obviously studying and practicing dharma, what is a fantastic day for you ?

20 years of triangle research has led nowhere

I apologize for my silly post, now deleted in respect of your feelings. I was going to write a much longer post, about altered states, the symbolic language of the subconscious, and even some historical data about those signs which appeared during the French revolution (actually the eye in the...

    Beyond language

There is a great Sufi story which I won't bother you with. The punchline, so to speak, is that if you really want to understand someone, listen to what you say when you are with them. That's assuming they are capable of shutting up and listening.

Is Buddhism a form of mysticism?

On topic....mysticism (buddhamstyle)...we must renounce 'yogic stability'....the horse cannot be ridden (or even freed to leave) until it is unstabled.

Is Buddhism a form of mysticism?

If the headache acts with sila, viriya and prajna, it may simply evaporate, none the wiser, but at least comfortable in the knowledge of its nonexistence.

Is Buddhism a form of mysticism?

You aren't getting a headache, the headache simply falsely posits you as the sufferer.
