How can one distinguish between Chinese Folk Religion and Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism? At least 400 million people call thir religion "Chinese Folk Religion," more than any other religion in China.

I have been reflecting on this my whole life. There is Brahman which all things are a part. Shiva, Vishnu, Mother Goddess and the rest, including Yahweh/Allah, are Manifestations of It. As is the Universe and everything in it.
Is this devotion to particular kami at all like devotion to saints in Catholicism and Orthodoxy in that the are not seperate denominations but merely distinct traditions within Shinto?
