Christians: why did God do that to me?

    I don’t have a denomination.

Christians: why did God do that to me?

The Bible and God taught me this. :)

Piercings, yes. Are you familiar with gauges?

How should white people atone for their racism?

No, I don’t, not for me. Perhaps others? Maybe millionaires by inheritance? I’m not them.

    Is Sola Scriptura pagan?

I’ve been wondering on this as well. As a Christian, I wonder... is scripture everything? There isn’t to my knowledge a verse in the Bible which mandates one must read and obey to the letter, the entire Bible, nor even to take it as absolute authority (as if it’s God). Isn’t that a form of...

How should white people atone for their racism?

I refuse to accept “white guilt” and leave my atonement to that of my own past, not those I’ve never met.

Christians: why did God do that to me?

This is a fallen world and while we pretend to be just or some claim the world is in itself just, neither is true. Rain falls on the good as well as on the wicked, children die of cancer, and wicked things are done in high places. We are living in the fallen design, not the original...

Canadian tribunal fines $55,000 for expressing Christian views on “transgenderism”

Interesting, I was just going by the dictionary definition of "mutilation".

Canadian tribunal fines $55,000 for expressing Christian views on “transgenderism”

It's still technically mutilation, according to the dictionary.

Canadian tribunal fines $55,000 for expressing Christian views on “transgenderism”

Okay... Just over six months ago, I identified as male. In fact, I identified as primarily male for most of my adolescence and young adulthood. As a child, I was a "tomboy", wanting nothing to do with "girly things", be they toys, clothes, or hairstyles. As I matured, I cut my hair to a crew...

Canadian tribunal fines $55,000 for expressing Christian views on “transgenderism”

Did he say that he thought of LGBT+ with the same level of disgust he has for pedophiles?

How is what he said any of those things?

Canadian tribunal fines $55,000 for expressing Christian views on “transgenderism”

That's one of the most disgusting things I've seen lately.

Tongue splitting? I do pray you don't but I am not your keeper. You will do what you will do. As for your gender dysphoria, preventing you from working, I don't believe surgery was the best solution or even an acceptable solution to resolve your mental illness.

    In Defense of Scientism

I don't ignore what scientists claim. I look at it if I'm interested (and sometimes even if I'm not) and decide (as you do) if it's based on logic, reason, and evidence. The entire point I've been trying (clearly poorly) to make is that I don't accept anyone as an absolute authority on anything...

    In Defense of Scientism

Yes, as a scientist, you use science; it's your tool. You know more about a given field than someone who hasn't spent "x years" studying that field. However, I also don't discount someone who has spent "x years" studying a specific field, yet who didn't attend an educational institution in order...
