    Your honest one-word answer

Caught-up in change, having strayed far from the original teaching. That kind of thing. Also, caught-up in relatively unimportant issues, whilst ignoring the more important ones.

The Resurrection: Was it a surprise? Or did Jesus know it was coming?

Nah, I've got nothing more concrete. I can't think of it right off the bat, at least. But... I mean, we also have no Gospel reports of him walking around, saying, "oh my god, I'm alive! Guys, check this out! Isn't this cool? I totally did NOT expect this!", which hints that he might've known...

    Divine revelation? or Demonic incantation?

Ah, Abrahamics coming together to help someone out! What a beautiful sight!

    Gods You'd Never Worship

I don't worship Jesus, and I don't think that God has any human-like qualities. My religious designation is "Christian", but it's a bit misleading, actually. I don't believe in a personal God. <3

    Gods You'd Never Worship

Of course he did. But I don't believe he is God (seeing as to how everything is "God" in non-dualism), so I don't worship him. Revere, yes. Worship, no.

Is this a Non-Abrahamic Monotheistic Religion

Really? Jainism? It's never struck me that way!
  8. Bob Dixon

    Divine revelation? or Demonic incantation?

So... what do you think you could do with such anagrams anyway? How could they possibly affect anything? It's not like you've been given a book to write. Why do you think this should be significant?
  9. Bob Dixon

    Divine revelation? or Demonic incantation?

Most likely, it's neither a divine revelation, nor a demonic incantation, but instead a perception originating in the mind. If you wish, tell us more, and we'll help you out. Explain.

    Can God be reasoned with?

I don't think Paul's teachings correspond exactly to Jesus'. They may be a part of the Bible, according to Paulinists, but I don't really think so. Mark 7:24-30 and Matthew 15:21-28 is what you're looking for.

    Why does God need prophets?

Are you implying you "figured it out" all on your own?
  12. Bob Dixon

    Gods You'd Never Worship

You know what? You're right, yes. I should've said, it is acceptable to worship God as long as you don't attribute human qualities to him. As to "gods", I'm a bit averse to polytheism, myself, because I'm somewhat of a monist.

    Can God be reasoned with?

I would argue otherwise. I would say that there is only one God, and He is talked about at length in the Vedas, the Gathas, the Bible, the Gospels, the Qur'an, the Guru Granth Sahib, etc. Awesome! The Hebrew Bible! Listen, darling, all that proves is that YHVH cares about Jewish people...

    Why does God need prophets?

Mhm! You could ask, "why doesn't God talk in a way everyone understands?" Well... He does! But will everyone listen? I mean, the Universe is set up in a relatively simple way. Big structures are complex, but it's founded on relatively simple mathematical principles. Can everyone understand...

    Gods You'd Never Worship

I'd never worship any gods but God! But, for the sake of this thread... any god which exhibits human-like qualities is, to me, unworthy of worship. For example.

    The Gospel of Buddha

While both of you are more right than anyone could ever be, he DID say "concise". The Pali Canon and the Sutras are very extensive. Not concise at all.
  17. Bob Dixon

    Why does God need prophets?

Perhaps He does communicate with all of us. Perhaps not all of us are ready or able to hear.

    Is the Bible Accurate?

Excellent. Also, the Bible is a man-made book. Does it need to be accurate in all details to get its message across? Its main message is that we should "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God". That's it.

    Question Concerning Views of Homosexuality

You missed the part when Michael told Jesus, who told Bob Dixon, who told Clint Eastwood, who told Gabriel. On topic: Classic hypocrisy! Absolutely fantastic! "Guys! We should follow the Bible!" "What, all of it? It's pretty big, I don't think we can do it, man..." "Hmm... you're right. Let's...
