ok, sorry if you get that impression. by saying that the NWT is incorrect in the translation of those verses according to the LXX you are saying, indirectly that it is better are you not. therefore i asked you the question that i did about the tetragrammaton. if the LXX omits certain words, or...
it's good that you are looking, but be careful. a forum isn't the place to come if you are looking for the truth. you'll see throughout this forum that one will say this and one will say that. it can be very confusing as to what to believe, but then again, this is a debate forum and such is...
1 Corinthians 15:50 (King James Version)
50Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
I can't remember exactly what the answer to that one is, but i think it had to do from who's point of view it was written from. or something along those lines...
no probs. actually, you had me worried then, i thought i'm sure i read it and had to look it up! i thought i'd look a bit silly if i was wrong... :) by the way, what is hubris?
so, if the LXX is so infallible, has it included or translated the tetragrammaton where it out to have, instead of replaced it with a title? LXX Psalm 83:18 'And let them know that thy name is Lord; that thou alone art Most High over all the earth.' and what are the reasons for doing that?
not sure what you point is. like you've shown, the are more 'gods' according to the bible, however, they are lifeless, idols, etc, made objects of wroship by man. there is only one true living God, and that is God almighty. Psalms 83:18 'That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH...
i agree with you on the point that what exodus was saying was that making an image for religious worship was wrong. and this is backed up by what you say about instructions for the ark. however, as far as the ark goes, it was hidden from public view behind a curtain, and at no time was worship...
Please don't kill me for this, but according to the bible, the evidence of God is all around us.
Romans 1:20 'Men cannot say they do not know about God. From the beginning of the world, men could see what God is like through the things He has made. This shows His power that lasts forever. It...
i know this isn't on the same topic and i'd be happy to move it elsewhere, but i'm interested in knowing why you think adam and eve didn't exist. do you believe other bible characters existed such as Jesus? Because if you do believe in Jesus and his line of ancestors, then you should also...
I believe that venerating an image or a relic is the same as idol worship. The scriptures warn against image worship in the ten commandments for example.
exodus 20:3 You shall not make for yourself a carved imageany likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth...
Good info there...but would you say, that in those instances, the NWT is no worse or sloppy than other commonly used versions of the bible? like i said, there are manny translations that also read 'the sons of isreal.'
also, do you think that the NWT is correct in restoring the name of God into...
The LXX Reads Deut 32:8
When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.
The NWT Reads:
When the Most High gave the nations an inheritance, When he parted the sons of Adam from one...
one of the stipulations Paul made about removing people from the church or congregation, was that the wrongdoer had to be unrepentant. if one sinned once, one could be removed, or if they sinned repeatedly, one could be removed. however, if the wrongdoer, if a one off or repeated sinner, was...
