I'm so glad I'm not a believer in such a wicked ideology: putting non-believers in hellfire? Just sounds like a scare tactic if I'm honest, I don't buy it.
Also, is it not true that in Islam hellfire is temporary, and eventually the tortured are allowed in to paradise?
I suppose there is a lot of truth in that: just look at how people treat those who have differing political or religious views. It takes a lot for someone to - genuinely - accept a differing opinion as equal.
Using your example: the very decision to specify which creature the "type" of soul is born in to drastically limits it's capacities for individual "free" expression for the assessment of its behaviour.
To compound the issue, free will is further reduced by active bonuses/penalties based on...
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree here. I cannot see how having a god intervene with such a level of pre-determinism can then accurately assess its subjects "free will" and reward/punish them for it. It seems inconsistent.
One has to wonder what would be the point in a deity granting "free will" to creatures - whilst rewarding/penalizing them depending on certain behaviours - if he's already predetermined what kind of "function" they will perform and how long they'll live.
I did some brief work for a small business owner who drove a luxury car. I remember once informing her that she was illegally parked and that a parking warden was nearby, here response was: "I'd rather just pay the fine and keep the car parked there for convenience". Absolutely no deterent what...
Punishments should be equal.
Physical retaliation (to being attacked) should be determined by the the attacker's weight, size, durability and threat level.
Pardon my ignorance of Physics but aren't perpetual motion devices basically impossible and even under ideal theoretical conditions amount to a zero-sum state?
Is any of this being done in the name of Atheism?
Were the policy makers indoctrinated and radicalised by Atheism?
Is there even a central - or any - authority on Atheism from where people can be radicalised?
