Determinism: the holy grail of Academia.

Also i would like to add: Asking science to prove or disprove free will is like asking priest to prove or disprove God. Science is about causality, which means its going to "deny" agency, so science by its very nature is not in a position to look for free will.

Determinism: the holy grail of Academia.

Oh... determinists are so cute... claiming that determinism is true yet at the same time saying that they are pre-determined to think that way. Btw, academia is full of idiots and angry nerds.

    Pagans: Is heritage important?

Not mine but relevant to the thread: "Christian missionaries came close to baptizing King Radbod, but before carrying through with the ceremony and conversion he asked a question, “Where are my dead ancestors at present?” Wolfram the Christian missionary answered, “In Hell, with all other...

    Pagans: Is heritage important?

Its up to you. Maternal ancestors does not really matter since historically it was men who was culture bearers. Its a popular myth in order to satisfy PC. You are free to check out map of tribes from far back and you will see that genetically speaking changes were minimal. Look at for...

    Is prostitution acceptable?

Think of the ugly people, or handicaps and so on. What would they do without prostitutes. So prostitutes basically doing God`s work. But it is still nothing good about this situation. Prostitutes wouldn't exist in a perfect world.

    Do Men Even Want Women?

Also i prefer women to not have body hair. It got nothing to do with me liking little girls, i just want my women to look opposite of men, as much as possible.

    Do Men Even Want Women?

I love the idea of woman, the games they play, I haven't really noticed it, maybe it is the case in Japan.

How does your religion view sex and sexuality?

Basically anything Non-Abrahamic i think. Buddhism? Paganism? There is also some strange feminist druid(?) cult that have sex with the earth, trees, etc... I am sure they pretty open minded about sex ;)

    Pagans: Is heritage important?

I will probably get a lot of hate for this post :) but heritage is very important!!! Pagans honoring their ancestors with their actions. If your ancestors were Jewish for example, being a Druid is not honoring them but spitting them in the face. There is a reason why Paganism is very...

Materialism has officially become dangerous in my eyes.

    1. Consciousness would make you aware of you determinism and by that it would give you ability change your perspective and because of it act differently, in other words it would make you self-determined. 2. Free will gives you control of yourself. Once you can control your own nature, you can...

Materialism has officially become dangerous in my eyes.

I know that not all atheists are materialists, but i thought we were talking about the material kind because of this post: If an argument that you use to "debunk" other people beliefs can also "debunk" your beliefs, it is either a bad argument or the position that you are using the argument...

Materialism has officially become dangerous in my eyes.

Because consciousness gives you (potentially) free will, thus control over your own nature and nature around you, more or less of course, so it puts you above the "natural law" because you can defile it (again, more or less, although with modern science it seems to be more). nah, not at all, i...

Materialism has officially become dangerous in my eyes.

just from top of my head.... Hitchens's razor atheists usually dismiss the idea of God because they want evidence... an atheist that believes in ghosts should then apply the same reason to his believes.

Materialism has officially become dangerous in my eyes.

Because how can anyone claim such knowledge? umm... i actually answered it in my previous reply.

Materialism has officially become dangerous in my eyes.

Well, are we truly conscious? Maybe consciousness is just an illusion? I have yet to find any satisfying materialistic theories on conciseness. dont know I would say it would make the detector schizophrenic. But we can talk about this when we will detect ghosts empirically.
